Anyone watching this on VH1?

I don't know, personally the "I Love the XXs" series lost its charm after the first 80's segment, but this is overkill

Maybe for me the topics & trends are either too current to reflect on or just not as interesting...Zoolander & Dude Where's My Car are seriously the movies they picked to reflect on ?(with Gladiator, Erin Brokovich, & Cast Away however)

...I didn't even bother watching the last half of 2001, lol so maybe I should not be complaining...but doubting its getting any better

Not to mention that there's still like a year & a half left before this installment should've been made

Your thoughts?

I refuse to even watch it. The should've at teh very least waited until 2010 and then it would still be premature. The 90's sucked. They pick the wrong trends. They just leave stuff out that they shouldn't.

omg can they not wait. pretty soon we'll get i love 2015 talking about things that haven't even happened yet. plus they didn't even talk about my two fav movies from 2000, scary movie and bring it on.

see that's the thing. The series is good because the OMG I remember that! factor which means that things need to be far enough removed that you've forgotten them to some extent. And they also have to be things that are memorable and wide spread. You need to wait a while to see what sticks in yoru mind 2 years removed and you won't be like wtf are they talking about?

Like someone mentioned they did Dude Where's My Car.... WTF that's such a horrible choice. It's not an "American Pie" it wasn't a huge thing, it wasn't a fad, it was just a crappy movie wiht mild box office.

I Love the 80s was a really fun romp.

I Love the 70s was OK, although one got the feeling that most of the people talking about didn't actually participate in any of the activities they're talking about.

I Love the 90s was pretty bad. For one thing, the refractory period wasn't over. We hadn't gotten to the point of saying "Gee, that WAS kinda silly, but kinda fun." We were still in the "Ugh, did we really DO that?" period. And secondly, 90s marked the beginning of the end of "popular culture". In the 80s, even people who didn't watch The Cosby Show or listen to Michael Jackson knew about them. In the 90s, it was extremely easy to not participate in (or even be much aware of) things like Party of Five.

Haven't seen the new one, and I don't plan on it.

I completely agree. I was in middle school when "Dude Where's My Car" came out & still haven't seen the movie, and don't intend too. Even huge hits likes Lord Of The Rings/Harry Potter I still know nothing about. Its so easy now to just ignore things like that than it used to be.

Even in the original I love the 80's, I was at least inspired to see the movies they talked about that were out when I wasn't even born yet

Really the only thing I've been entertained by was the segment they did on the Homeland Security Color-coded Alert System...that was pretty silly looking back on it. But the jeans that provide ass cleavage were out before the 2000s & weren't so popular to spend as much time covering them

But everything else is just blah. If you you haven't seen it yet, don't bother. Its far from as entertaining as I Love The 80s

(and I too am bummed they didn't mention Scary Movie, it only restarted the entire movie spoof genre for the New Millennium...)

I love when they were talking about the McGrittle. :) Amy Lee was so white " Uhh..it's a cheese, egg biscuit thing..."

I adore her. :luv2:

^^ Aaah, i was going to mention that Amy Lee was in it. I haven't watched it, but i plan to, if i can find it somewhere. I'm only really interested in it because it features Amy Lee, and any appearances from Evanescence are very rare at the moment.

Aah, thank you, i've already seen two of her segments, but i hadn't seen the third, the one where she was talking about that movie.

By the way, what IS that movie?
