It is the consensus of the scientific and psychological community that celibacy is not healthy for anyone. Humans like all animals are sexual creatures and have sexual needs. Living a misrable life devoid of romantic and sexual intimacy is not good for anyone. Like so many gays you have been programed to hate your sexuality and wish to live a life of romantic and sexual deprivation in spite of the fact that all major scientific and psychological groups say that there is nothing wrong with gay sex and that in order to be psychologically healthy gays like all people must express their sexuality.

Also I am fully in a position to judge the Church wrong as I am a logical and reason based person. Plus all biologists and psychologists consider the Church wrong on sex. We know that sex is for both pleasure and procreation and that species have sex for both of these reasons. In fact the main reasons animals have sex is for pleasure and procreation is merely a side effect. However there are some animals which are gay which purely have non procreative sex and it is only gay humans who have been brainwashed by evil religions like Catholicism that feel the need to suppress their sexuality and live miserable lives of deprivation in order to fulfill the command of a deranged god.


No she corrected Pope Francis. Pope Francis made numerous lies and false information about gay people like saying that gay couples raising kids is child abuse. This woman works to give gays equal rights and you would support someone who would discriminate against you. This is self hatred to the extreme.

Unless Jesus is going to come down from Heaven and have sex with you then spiritual love is not equal to physical love and will definitely leave you unsatisfied. Humans are sexual creatures and we need this intimacy in order to be happy. Your denial of your sexuality is denounced by all mainstream scientific and psychological groups as being unhealthy.

And if you read anything beyond the first post you would have seen that the other posters posted things that refuted this nonsense. Celibacy does not lead to longevity and in fact causes mental stress and problems. Healthy people have healthy sex.

And you basically have no scientific or psychological evidence other then one person allegedly crediting celibacy to longevity, a site noting some "positive" aspects of celibacy and some mystical unscientific crap from some Buddhists. I posted actual scientific links as well as the findings of mainstream Psychologists that celibacy leads to depression. You have nothing to post other then hearsay and mystical nonsense that has nothing to do with science.

Post some findings by actual scientists and psychologists [Text: Removed]. Which you can't because the findings of mainstream psychology is that celibacy is not psychologically healthy. Humans are sexual creatures and denying our nature is not good for us.

that's what I was always taught in Catholic (Jesuit) school religion classes... being gay isn't inherently sinful, but having sex without the intent of procreation is (so, gay sex would be a sin along the same lines as heterosexual couples using birth control; something generally ignored and overlooked by the Church in practice)

That is so much bullshit.

The problem is that the Roman church has willingly committed idolatry by exalting Aristotle above the Bible. It began before him, but Thomas Aquinas was the one who twisted everything catholic into an Aristotelian form, and that has been since made the official position of Roman theology. Nothing in scripture says that sex is only for procreation; in fact, the opening part of Genesis itself puts a limit on procreation while nowhere is there any limit put on sex: when God commands humans to "be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth", it's a command that He's given to all His creatures; since elsewhere it's made clear that He values all His creatures, the limit to procreation comes when humans start to crowd out other creatures (as we would say these days, other species). Perhaps making sure there could be offspring from sex might have been a valid position in the past, what Rome ought to be teaching now is population control.

But the point is that since actual Christian teaching (as opposed to twisting it with Greek philosophy) does not require sex to be for procreation, Dolan (along with his boss) is full of excrement.

The Catholic Church is wrong. Sex is not just sheerly about procreation it is about pleasure as well. Animals in nature have sex for both procreation and pleasure and many animals have gay sex as well. Plus with how overpopulated the world is we could do without some procreating.

To know that sex is about pleasure, one merely needs read the Song of Songs (Song of Solomon), which celebrates that intimacy without making any point at all about bringing children along.

This reminds me of the disparity between the Holy See and the average Catholic. The former still keeps its antediluvian credos based on archaic superstitions, while the later has embraced modern science and reason, as we've seen with heavily catholic nations like Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay enacting marriage equality. Really, many Catholics in the western world don't have an issue with homosexuality or same-sex marriage in theory or practice. So long as their church isn't forced to go against its traditions, they're all for civil equality.

It's quite sad really.
