I made myself throw up and I do not know why?

I had a light dinner and then had a urge to do some simple exercises. I was drinking water to keep myself fresh.

After the workout I went to the bathroom to take a shower and during the shower I just had the urge to throw up.

I just stopped in the middle of washing my hair and throw up for no reason at all. I was thinking that I was doing great in my diet and had not gained a pound. Then I stared to think about what I eat and then without thinking it just happened.

In my opinion is that I eat to much, then did a workout to soon while drinking alot of water which made me ill.

I'm I making a big deal out of nothing?

Well.... if you felt sick right after a workout and think you drank too much water, then yeah, I've done that before too. I haven't literally MADE myself throw up, but if I chug too much water, especially after I've worked out, then it's made me feel a little sick to my stomach.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it, unless you start doing it on a regular basis. Or, well, wanting to, I mean. I've had moments where I've felt kinda sickish and you just wanna get it out of there to get the 'sick' feeling overwith.

If you threw up for no reason at all then you werent sick. No one should make themselve do that. Its nasty.

I done it, the Romans did it so you're in good stead - seriously though, after a night on the lash and a kebab i've felt like shit a few times, usually a good puke will get out the crap and then i sleep like a baby. Then its just the hangover to contend with.

IBF,

NO one should have to throw up for NO good reason!

If the body canNOT tolerate something like food or drink, then it will know when to get rid of it!

You should NOT take it upon yourself to make yourself throw up for it's NOT healthy!

I'm sure you have read all the bulumic stories/reports about how the acid from your stomach will eat off the enamel from your teeth with repeated throw-ups!

I don't know about the rest of you; but throwing up to me is just about one of the most unpleasant things I've ever done!

Please, do NOT use purging as a form of weight control, it's NOT healthy on your body!(*8*) (*8*)

Agreed, if its for weight-loss purposes you're going down a dangerous road.

Charming... Is this one of those instances when one is presented with a minor question to ponder, by way of introducing a more serious 'issue?'

I think it's difficult to tell from how your note was worded. My impression is that you spontaneously threw up while in the shower, rather than intentionally doing something to make you throw up (like sticking your fingers down your throat). It could have been a combination of overdoing it with the workout and drink, maybe something you ate just did not sit well, and the guilty feelings you were thinking at the time probably didn't help. At this point, I would let this one slide, but if your obsessing on your diet continues to cause you to throw up, then you should take it seriously and get some help.

I make myself vomit all the time. Am I proud of it? No. Do I see myself stopping? No.

:(

With long term purging, you are at risk for quite a few medical complicationssome of which do not show symptoms until damage has already been done. These include muscle weakness, fatigue, dehydration, enlarged parotid glands (glands in your cheeks associated with saliva production), tearing of your esophagus, loss of menses, osteoporosis, and heart and lung irregularities. You may not notice any tooth decay or stomach problems today, but rest assured that if you continue to purge as you say you do, you will end up (if you haven't already) doing permanent harm to your body.
Throwing up on a regular basis to feel better, and in an attempt to regulate weight, is classified as bulimia. I don't think it really matters what the label is. However, it does matter that it is an unhealthy behavior and is putting your health at risk. It also is not a very effective way to lose weight because most of the body weight that is lost is water.

I honestly think it was the water. Since I have always been really thin people assume that I have a food problem but I do not.

I was asking this question because I was wondering if I was overdoing the workout or if there was a serious problem.

i've gotten sick and thrown up after a workout, like if i lifted more than i should have. I would suspect that coupled with a bunch of water is what made you throw up. i doubt it's anything more serious than that.

I think I mis-understood your question!

If you just suddenly threw up without actually sticking your fingers down your throat.........then, it was probably a combination of all the water you drank plus over-exertion....

Sorry for the scolding...

Hey, Sam where ya been my friend? Welcome home!(*8*) (*8*)

I think you may have just overloaded your stomach with water. However if the food you ate was fairly acidic, that can produce nausea with exercise! As they say in the ads-"If symptoms persist, see your doctor!";)
