As another closeted gay man (very similar situation as you concerning family), I want to say that you just need to push through the bad times and learn to accept small accomplishments as major victories. My first week went really well. Everyone at my new job is so friendly. I will have to get use to my bosses sense of humor though. I haven't gotten any of his jokes. Anyway, I found a LGBTQ+ support group and I'll be going to my first meeting the first week of September. I hope to get the support I need. Thank you for all your kind words and positivity.

You don't have to be "I go to this church" or "I'm whatever mix of letters". Push come to shove, no one cares.

Been there. I've never told anyone what sex I prefer to have sex with. That's my business. It's never been a problem.

I never told my parents. They figured it out. No drama at all.

It takes a while to figure out.
Just forget about "being queer" and "out" labels.

I dunno. I never felt like I was in the closet. I've just been me since about the time I turned 10 years old.
 
Glad to hear that your first week went well and that you've found a support group too👍 Keep up the G-R-E-A-T work and just take each day one step at a time (a small victory, is still a victory).
 
Hey all, I just wanted to update everyone. I am enjoying my new job and have gotten to know some new friends at work. I'm finally starting ngto feel myself again. And I have started the long process of saving up for an apartment so I can finally be out on my own. I stopped going to church because I'm now working during the normal church service. I've also been thinking of saving up money to go back to school to learn animation but I haven't really made a decision yet. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for your concern and support. I really appreciate all of you!
 
College is a target-rich environment. Go forth and conquer.
 
It seemed like time for another update. Work is going well. I am taking classes on the side at the city college so moving out may be on the back burner for a bit. I'm going for a degree in publishing and writing. I found my calling as a writer. My hope is to write fictional books about the LGBTQ+ community. My hope is to inspire people to help accept themselves as part of this community. I am enjoying my classes and have joined the college's GSA, which has really helped me accept myself more. Trying to get the courage to ask one of the guys out in the club (and any advice would be appreciated). Things seem to be taking a turn for the best finally. I'll keep you posted as more things happen.
