So I've had an on again off again relationship with dating apps like tinder. I recently started using it again because after quarantine and all that, I've been super lonely and really want to find someone to be with. Anyways, made some connections with local guys, not much has come from any of it though. I've matched with people from other parts of the country and world before, some are obvious scams or robo accounts. But recently I matched with 2 guys, one from Ghana and one from Kazakhstan. I've chatted with both quite a bit and video called with both of them so I know they are who they say they are. But I still can't help feeling like I'm getting scammed or something. I feel like I'm being very naïve and I am not sure what to do. I don't know if my desire to be in a relationship is clouding my judgement.

Has anyone else been in this type of situation? Did anything come from it? Is it all a scam? I'd welcome any advice anyone may have.
Thank you

Chat all you want - but don't expect to ever meet them and no matter what DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY

And do not give out too much information about yourself.

It's a shame that we have to be this way. There was a time where you could chat with people on the internet or on social media without fear of scammers. But the reality is that there's always a group of scammers and thieves who are always looking for new opportunities.

See that's what my brain was trying to tell my heart and other parts lol Thank you guys! And no, no personal info and definitely no money, honestly that's what I'm expecting them to ask for sooner rather than later. I think I just needed to hear someone say what I was thinking.

You appear to be in Washington State, always be cautious of guys on the other side of the planet in questionable locales. Very little can "come from it" they aren't getting into the US unless you marry one of them, so the only thing that can "come from it" is messages on the internet, and no you don't know who they really are, you only know what they showed you. That's true for anyone on the net. You can't start knowing someone until you spend some time with the physical person.
