I-Phone vs Nokia N95

well he has no problem being "locked" into iTunes and I don't think he really wants to use anything else.

and why would Apple care about other music stores? they're the competition, and therefore a threat. whats with all this being "locked" into iTunes. Most people prefer iTunes to other music stores.

and he is being nice compared to what Cum_Slave is saying and you just turn a blind eye to him.

i dont read cum slaves posts they add nothing so why bother reading that tripe

I am more interested in telling people my views than jumping in on one side or the other

And about itunes MS it is anti competitive behaviour apple dont want DRM free music Jobs merely said it because he did not think that any music company would allow it so he said it and got his hand caught in the cookie jar with EMI

so to save face instead of saying no he has them at a higher price (because of the higher bit-rate *Cough*bullshit*Cough*) embeds personal information in the track and hopes it dosent affect the lock in

It is what i would have done ;)

All about the N95.
It looks better than the iPhone, and works better too.

I'll always be for Nokia. I've enjoyed the company of Nokia phones for years.
I'm happy with how the work etc.. Will always have a Nokia.

The N-Series definately is better than Apples stupid phone, in my eyes.

hmmm the N95 so does not look better than the iPhone. its so big and clunky and just ugly.

I agree.

Some people, however, are so dead-set against anything that's not miscrosoft that they'll rip down anything Apple does no matter what.

It's kinda funny.

i think the iphone looks very nice and at least as good as any phone on the market except for its size

i also find it funny that some people are so pro apple anti everything else that unless something has an apple logo on it it is ugly

its kinda fucking stupid

Uhm... okay...

So aside all the bickering, can someone summarize all the pros/cons of each phone, features, etc? Someone may have mentioned it, but I glossed over the war.

Well, I just finished reding this whole thing. This is what I've picked up from it:

If you are the proud and lucky owner of a Mac then you don't have to buy an Iphone, but the Iphone just might be the best phone for you.

If you are the proud and lucky owner of anything other than a Mac then you can still buy an Iphone, but you've got quite a variety of other phones to choose from as the best phone for you.

Personally, since I do not own a Mac, the only feature that captured my attention on the Iphone was it's large touch screen. This is actually the first time I read about the features on the N95 and I'm pleasantly surprised ..|. So, if I was to spend that much money on something like a cell phone then I would happily go with (since I'm not a Mac owner) N95 :D.

I could always have more fun with the touch screen on the Nintendo DS.

I've just been looking at the specs and from what I can see the Nokia has the better ones. However If one is an itunes junkie and isn't interested in photo taking and movie making abilities and you also have large pockets and don't mind being tied to single service provider with low speed internet then go for it and the touch screen manipulation is kinda cool.

I use a Mac but it doesn't make me an Apple Junkie, I way up pros and cons before making my decision and I will stick with Nokia and dream of an N95. Meanwhile I am happy with my 6233 which does a few things the iphone can't although the iphone also does a few that it can't. However I don't use itunes and do take short movies and have my bluetooth Gps hooked up to it. There is synching software in osx and free phone managing software available and the bluetooth works a dream for file transfers, far easier than using the PC software.

Speaking of which, I've heard some rather... bad things about the N95:

Is the phone as "sluggish" as they say it is? Reviews from gizmodo and such have commented that every feature in the phone takes a while to get to, and the performance of the phone in general is just sluggish. Even the camera, albeit a nice one for a cellphone, is sluggish.

Then, the battery life supposedly is bad. Probably due to all the features Nokia loaded into it, but would I be able to get through a day without having to recharge it?

Another thing: the GPS. It's nice to have GPS on the phone, as I'm moderately okay with direction (I can only point out North XD), but reports say the system has glitches, sometimes does not connect, and when it does connect, it takes a while to connect to any satellite. There are even reports of people being told by their GPS system that they're in Brazil... when they're actually in Michigan (or wherever else not Brazil).

So uhm, I just need to know from people who have the N95, is it giving you a hard time?
