I quit!

That is GREAT!!!!! After another month or so you won't even remember smoking.

If you dont mind me asking, how many did you smoke per day, how long were you smoking. I have been trying to quit for the longest time, 20 per day, for about 17 years. Next step is Chantix, already discussed it with my doctor, I think I will be starting on it around March.

Way to go, juno!! ..| :=D:

As a reformed smoker myself (threw the last of the disgusting things away about 7 years ago), I can attest to the health benefits!

You keep it up, mate! (*8*)

It doesn't matter how many you smoked a day, It is still a great achievement.

Keep the good work up

I quit on November 6th 2005 with Nicorette gum. Everyone said it tastes terrible but they came out with the Ice Mint one that tastes just like a normal chewing gum like trident or clorets. It works great, I don't crave a cigarette at all. I will likely chew this for another 8 months to be sure. I quit when my Father was diagnosed with Cancer. He died Feb 6 2006, three months after I quit.

I quit in February of 2005 and smoked for over 20 years (yes, I started young). Only way I could do it was cold turkey, no patches, gum or anything else. I will never go back to that nasty habit now.

wow thats gr8 man keep it up i know how hard it is to quit i tryed to stop lats year or so and i did for about a month or so but started again (kicks ass).

The gum works and my Doctor says it's not harmful to you, it's the chemicals mixed with heat that are harmful. I have quit the gum very easily by just chewing regular gum but I really don't want to take any chances right now to going back to smoking (smoker for 30+ years) so I decided to chew the gum for 2 years.

I should think so! ..|

The younger one is when ending the habit, the better the odds that your lungs/respiratory will recover w/o any long term damage.

Get healthy & celebrate the male body!

Heroin?!

No, please!! Go back to the cigarettes before you do that shit!!!!!

Don't start these kinds of topics normally, but thought I would share this - I quit smoking! Been something like a month now, and surprisingly I don't feel any sort of desire to start again.

I've been trying to for a while, convincing myself it isn't healthy, and that if I quit, I could probably start doing heroin since nicotine is so much more addictive. Yet nothing helped, until one night I saw my dad smoke outside after arguing with my mom. I quickly realized that I don't want to end up like him.

Haven't smoked since that day.

CONGRATS!! Way to go! I know a lot of people who have tried to quit smoking and have failed. Nice to hear a positive story for once!
