Her ego is really starting to annoy me.

I was ok with the re-release of her album even though only two songs were added. I was even ok with her releasing four different covers to her book so that "lil monsters" could have collectables. And when she refuses to take her sunglasses off in interviews...alright, she quircky.

But I just watched her phone convo on the Ellen show with that 6th grader who did an amazing cover and Ellen pretty much had to force her to give the kid a compliment.

I get that you had one amazing album...but seriously get the fuck over yourself and get somepeople skills.

Agree.

Sure she has really catchy, accessible music, and is without a doubt talented, but honestly? The only thing setting her apart from other talented musicians is that she acts like a whore/sideshow freak.

I would find her more appealing if she was more down to earth. She seems to be acting upon the Gaga persona in every aspect of her life. She always preaches that people should be proud of who they are/how they look/their bodies/etc., but I suspect her life is a constant act.

I wonder how she will change as her career goes on. Maybe one day she will revert to her real name?

End of story, I call BS on her "Lady Gaga" personality. It seems to come down to a hypocritical gimmick to me. But Poker Face is still fucking wicked.

This is why I miss Party Gaga. Arty Gaga has the better music, but that's about it. Party Gaga was likable, consistent, hot as hell, and obviously liked Roisin Murphy and was therefore amazing.

If you think Gaga is a twat now, wait until she dyes her hair dark and goes through her serious artist phase.

I saw the Ellen show too & she was very genuine to that little kid & giving him compliments. I didnt think Ellen had to force Gaga to give him any compliments. IMO.

I thought Gaga sounded awkward. Behind the façade of Lady Gaga, the actual person I feel is incredibly shy and insecure. While on the phone, without the visual presence of Gaga, she seemed unsure of what to say.

I honestly don't feel she has an ego. I think it's more of an alter ego than anything else. Sometimes incredibly shy people need to create a persona so that they may go out and do what they've always wanted

I kinda believe this too. Lady Gaga seems to be a mask she puts on to protect herself and feel secure. I think she genuinely likes to dress and act the way she does, but it's revved up now that she's famous. However, she seemed real and kind when she was on the phone with Greyson on Ellen.

I like Party Gaga better too. She seemed much more relatable, fun, and genuinely happy them. She also looked much younger, and I'm not just talking about looks. She feels like she aged 15 years from Party Gaga to Artsy Gaga. The gray hair doesn't help any. Her interviews as Party Gaga were down-to-earth and human, compared to her awkward and stiff Artsy Gaga interviews.

She says that she wants to keep her personal life private, but in interviews, it makes her come off as unrelatable and fake. She often seems distant and off, like she's deep in thought all the time. And I totally agree -Callum-. I LOVE Lady Gaga, but her explainations for her material can come off as bullshit. At the same time, she puts alot of effort into making her fans happy. She pays special attention to them and always mentions her fans when it comes to everything.

In short, I want to know less about Lady Gaga and more about Stefani Germanotta.

The only reason she was called was because this kid loved her, but when they put her on she went on about lying in bed and something about her caller ID. Then Ellen led the convo to the kid and she gave a have hearted bleh and went back to talking about herself and why she like Ellen.

I don't necessarily think its her ego, more like her act. Also she needs to ditch some of her people, people are getting annoyed with her because of the drama Perez Hilton and Akon start.

Have you seen some of the older circuit "boys" still out there? They look fucking creepy.

It definately feels like a facade she is putting up. She is a great artist but as a person we can't say much.

She keeps her fans happy because they put money in her wallet. You piss off fans and you lose money. Obviously that is a blunt exaggeration but it holds true.

she was on the spot, having to talk about someone she has never met before. she was making vague compliments/generalities about him to kill air time on the show. so I think thats why she talked about the caller id & stuff to Ellen. She did give him some advice & said to keep persuing music. I mean, whats left to say?

Agreed. She was pleasant, kind, and personable.

What was she supposed to do? Burst into tears at the mere mention of his voice and hail him the next Justin Bieber?

Yes, she should have. The next Justin Bieber can't be nearly as irritating as the one we have now so he should be heralded immediately.

"Lady Gaga" is entirely a character that's a parody of fame, excess, and is an homage to the drag queens in the Manhattan gay club scene.

She's SUPPOSED to be this European, eccentric and conceited person, but Stefani Germanotta is still girly and softy, as evidenced here:

Awwwww!!

I'm a fan, Love her music, and some of her performances - however, when I saw her concert in December (first US leg of the monster ball), I really didn't know much about her as a person or her "act" - just knew her music and her eccentric clothing/performance - I felt like I was watching an actress when she talked to the crowd - yes, all artist have pre-planned speeches and say the same things every night, but it was a weird vibe. I guess that's "Gaga".

Still liked the show though, but I don't feel that I really know HER. Wondering how i'll like the show when I see her this fall.

I just wish that to go with her extreme persona, she had the goods to back it up. Hell the girl can sing, belt even, but her music isn't in the slightest representative of her individuality nor her image. I mean come on, Akon's productions? Hardly one of the best producers the world has seen. It's all very gimmicky, contrived almost.

This is exactly what I think about her.

She goes on and on about her art and how music is a form of art for her etc. but she essentially just prances around in her underwear and sings about sex. Thats what pretty much every female popstar around at the moment does. Musically she's not much different to a pussycat doll.

Its a shame because she's talented.
