This is like an amalgam of 'getting to know you' without the questions, and trying to out do each other with things you can remember doing which are funny, poignant, silly, exciting, or even things that were in the music charts or celeb in the news... etc. And some wry comment about it too...

For example:

I can remember when Gloria Gaynor was in the charts singing "I will survive"... in the 1970's, must've been 8 or 9 and singing it in the bath... Was it a sign?

or

I remember when I was small, every trip out of the house was a big adventure... Looking back on it now, we only travelled a few hundred yards form home,.

It came out 1978 or something didn't it? Anyway, her an Boney M, I really liked them... Daddy cool......

IRW a packet of crisps (potato chips) cost 5p in the school tuck shop. Funnily enough, I really don't recall craving for them. Now I can finish several packets in one sitting if I bought any - but not very often now.

I remember when the

Mustang was introduced by Ford

Camaro was introduced by Chevrolet

Firebird was introduced by Pontiac

Road runner was intorduced by Plymouth

Charger was introduced by Dodge

and my first car was introduced by Ford- the Pinto Pony

Cherry red with white wall tires. It was sooooo cool. It had a stick shift, and I still remember learning how to drive a manual trans.

I remember getting up early every morning just so I could watch GI-Joe, THundercats, and the transformers before I went to school every day.

I remember when I could walk to the ice cream store and buy a chocolate covered in foil for 1 cent in the early 70s.

remember when it was cool to have Doc Matins, no matter what color they were.

I bought a new 1966 Mustang convertible, 289 V8. I had just turned 16, and it was January 1967 and it was a leftover in the back of the lot.

I walked to school everyday. A 2.5 mile walk to and from school.

I remember when mcdonalds opened in my town
When the Super Walmart was built
When taco bell and Dairy Queen came to town
When they shut the Dairy Queen down.
When the Dairy Queen reopened.
When I catholic school.
When I thought that there was no other option for a religious belief other than catholicism.

I remember the good stores to shop in like: Filene's, Jordan Marsh, Pollards, the Bon Marche.

I remember when Pharmacies sold medical items, not food, hardware, toys, Christmas trees and items to fix your car

There was only fresh cut meats at the market, not pre-wrapped

^that was a 1975 Ford Torino
