  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

i saw a motorcycle accident! :(

But lets face it. It's the danger element which makes many of the riders look so hot!

MAN, this arguement pisses me off.

It's usually people who dont' know how to ride who act like the motorcycle itself is going to jump out and kill them.

Yes.. a bike is dangerous but the people who get seriously hurt in accidents are usually the losers who are riding way too fast and not paying attention. Like the guy in this story.

I've been riding for years.. yes.. I've been in a few accidents but aside from the time I got run off the road, I've never really been hurt. Even that time I was up on my feet in a few seconds.

Um like your last accident? I seem to remeber something about having to go to the hospital or something? But Joey is right the bike itself is not dangerous. The danger is when you add that varable called the rider. Yes Some riders are responsible even to the point of not having to be in the front while waiting for a red light...and some are idiots like in the post not paying attention or by what they wear while riding I mean one time I saw a guy on racing type bike (is that what you call them? I don't know) well anyway he was in a pair of short, no shirt, flips, glove, and helmet.....Question how much are the glove and helmet going to protect him. Personally I think bike are awesome but at my age the kind I like I am too old for and the kind that are for my age I wouldn't touch them with a 50 foot pole. Um if you want to know what kind of bike I like lets say this my dream car is a Bugatti Veyron top speed 253 mph....um that faster then a formual one racer

Motorcycles are death traps :). Sorry to any motorcyclists out there! But you guys know the odds, and please, wear helmets!

Interestingly, I just came back from Atlanta and read in the Journal-Constitution there (Tues. paper) that the police were doing a motorcycle crackdown (never heard of it before but applaud it). As I have noticed all over, these guys race around, weave thru thraffic, etc. Well, the article was relating as how part of this stakeout, some dude was going 100 mph on his cycle. They gave chase, but lost him until reports came in that he crashed into the back of a Union City, GA cruiser that was not part of the crackdown (that was an Atlanta police operation). He died. The same page I'm reading of another cyclist who lost control and hit something and died. My experience is these folks drive WAY too fast and erractic and I had an almost accident experience with one on Rt. 3 in Clifton, NJ about three years ago.

I think it's time to:
