I guess it's easier us as humans to figure that time is a straight line. But time is a man made science. I think there's a theory and I can't remember the name of it at all right now but in this theory the guy guesses that the past, present and future is all happening right now. It's hard to explain....just watch some new episodes of Doctor Who and enjoy!
