  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I Sort Of Knew This

I'm guessing that I do have that kind of verbal tic--- but I don't know what it is. How did you find yours? Did you just suddenly realize it--- or did someone point it out to you??

i say like way too much, i'm always saying 'and i was like....' 'and he was like...' instead of i said...he said...

I use "but, you know, whatever" or just "but whatever" when I'm talking about something that really bothers me or hurts me to someone.

I also say "Jesus fucking Christ", "what the fuck", "fuck that shit" and "bitches".

At work I say "Ugh" a lot. but anywhere else I say "anyway" all the time. because I get off-topic so often and that's how i go back to the original convo

"hopefully," "actually" and "in fact" crop up far too many times for my liking.

And "fuck." That's also getting waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of hand.

"grand". as in "Thanks, that's grand" "oh grand! I'm glad to hear it" etc.
I'm sure it's the fault of a certain Irishman in my life. I've just noticed recently that I've been saying it more and more often, so I've asked my coworkers to smack me if i say it, in an attempt to wean myself off it

I tend to drop the F-bomb in my sentences a lot. I think it
comes from being in a business world where you have to be so tame
and politicallly correct, that when I'm not on my job, the word flies:-) .

Being the self-respecting Canuck that I am, I use "Eh?" a lot.

And I can't seem to manage without the word "just'.

Right there with you... I find myself using "eh" all the time. ...

I also use "Seriously" a lot..
