My power came back on at 4pm. Eight days without electric. My house 45 degrees, it's now up to 53. Sorry to say I'm back to continue annoying JUBBERS around the world....

Where the hell was Rosie through all of this? Couldn’t you have tapped her to chase away the chill?

Glad you're ok, and that life is starting to get back to . . . . . well, your normal. ;)

YAY FOR SURVIVING! My problem as of late is the gas. If I wait in line for an hour and a half (which is one of the better lines compared to the 3 hour ones), I'm sure either my car's battery will give or I'll just run out of gas :|

Mine was only off for 2 days and that was bad enough.

I feel for you FPNY.

Hopefully, this next storm won't be bad.

So glad you are ok - need someone to WARM YOU UP???????????????

Another Sandy survivor here. What an ordeal! I've been counting my blessings every day since. Only minimal damage to the house and my family is okay, but such devastation around the area. The stories and images are painful. So traumatic.

Sad to report that Rosie is on her way out. The gas company won't service her anymore. I plan on posting her departure here. I'm really sad to see her go. But I have to have new tanks installed to power our much needed generator system.

Glad you made it through. We were without power for 5 days because of an ice storm several years ago and we thought we would never survive.

Can anyone tell us how they're doing in the Queens area of New York? According to yesterday's news the relief effort is limited to concerned neighbours taking sandwiches to the housebound. The TV report showed grim blocks of flats with hungry people sitting in the dark. It could almost have been undercover filming in North Korea. Is it as bad as that?
