Sounds like you have too much stuff and need to have a garage sale!

I like moving, it forces me to get rid of all the crap I've accumulated but have thus far been too lazy or stingy to toss in the bin or give to the salvos.

Think of it as an opportunity to get rid of shit. It's amazing how little you actually need to live comfortably.

Why oh why did I read this thread just as I am getting ready to move in a couple of weeks? #-o

I moved July 1 and felt overwhelmed with boxes for two weeks. It's all better now.

moving is the worst job ever ....

I would like to be the same as this guy ... wanting NOTHING, therfore no stuff/junk lying around:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDE6XWv6B9Q[/ame]

its very hard to achieve ............. :(

I also hate moving. My last experience wasn't bad at all though. My new job paid for the move, so I barely had to do anything other than unpack. They packed me up, loaded it up and drove it to my new place.

Unpacking took me about 3 days, and I was settled...I might take a while to pack, but I force myself to get completely unpacked in a couple of days...I hate looking at boxes.

Thankfully I'm happy where I am now. I wont be moving unless I take better job, or in a couple years when I finally decide to buy a house.

Pfff... just be unemployed. Helps a lot. And don't have stupid parents that try to compensate something with toys.

the moving sucks period.

But the new place, new neighbors, new street routes to learn....new walls to

walk into and stairs/steps to trip over.....thats fun.

Hmmmm, maybe I need to get a new life?

I am not looking forward to a Moving adventure, currently scheduled for Spring/Summer 2011.

We have to empty a 3500 SF house that hasn't been emptied since 1871 (not a typo), plus another house...the Partner's Mother's home...built in 1953 and never been emptied either. And my partner has enough trouble just sorting his clothes for the laundry...

We'll be driving 1500 miles, I'll have 4 days to get things underway, then he'll have to drive me 200 miles to get a cheap flight back to Colorado so I can go back to work for a few weeks, and I will have to manage progress by phone, then fly back to find out things are nowhere near completion...

This is NOT going to go well.

Yoop

Honest, I am not laughing at you but the picture of your partner

(that we have heard a bit about) ramrodding that operation calls for

hysterical laughter, a bloody mary gigante and maybe 2 valium.

Do I even wan to ask about earwigs?

Earwigs have gotten better (Better Living Through Chemistry!).

I have one trick up my sleeve if it doesn't go well next summer: I'm sending my Mom in to 'help.'

I don't achieve spiritual happiness through the acquirement of things, but that doesn't mean I don't want to have a place for my friends to sit down at when they visit.

let all your friends sit on the floor, they will be enlightened ...
