I think it's great letting a cat be a cat.
Out of my damn apartment where it's not scratching me, not laying on me when I'm clearly not in the mood, etc.
I can't say that I want to control others, but I'll never let some scumbag animal control me. That's for sure.
My wording is off. It's not that I was assuming that anyone who loves cats hates dogs. It's just that I see people who loves both dogs and cats as animal lovers. Yes, they're also cat-lovers, but I generally only use the term "cat-lovers" on those folks that think they are so much better than dogs. That's really my fault. When I said "ew, cat-lovers," I was thinking specifically of that person that goes on and on about how cats are smarter, independent, etc. and in the back of my mind all I'm thinking is how they see a dog's unbridled love and innocence as something to be made fun of and a cat's rudeness as a crowning achievement. That annoys me.
I don't mind it as much when people love both dogs and cats. That makes sense. Cats are evil, so if you're a good person and you still like them, you kinda have to like dogs and all the other animals out there who are nicer than cats. Y'know, like sharks, snakes, alligators, telemarketers, etc.
