I think I might cop some shit for this

What kind of cider do you have, nolie? Is it apple cider? Are there any other kinds of cider? Why do people in the UK/Ireland like to drink cider while they watch tele??

Heh heh. Is it full of "fruity" goodness? :-)

it might me lol

just got sick of waiting for these phones when the phone i really want wont be out for about a year or so something with everything does not exist yet so

how much data do you usually use a month andy who are you with

I'm with Optus on the $79 plan - 750MB included. I've been averaging only 100MB a month, but I have WiFi at home and work. My flatmate doesn't have WiFi at work and is still only using 200-250MB per month, and we're both fairly heavy users.

I think you made a wise choice - you're right, there's some really amazing phones coming out over the next 12 months or so. This way you get a funky new gadget (with not-funky camera, unfortunately) and can upgrade when the real iPhone killers hit the market next year.

When I used to work in a London pub, we were banned from serving Snakebite. Snakebite is a mixture of half lager beer, half cider, and a shot of blackcurrant cordial. It supposedly makes people a bit crazy!

AJ, have you been into the snakebite again?? :-)

It's a shame itunes is such shit on a PC. It actually works really well with the iphone on mac but then I guess that is what it was designed for.

It is such a shame that no one can get it together to put all the available technology in one phone. It is totally possible, just no one has done it.

My N95 was much more capable but so much harder to use and unstable. I hope you get on ok with the iphone AJ and I certainly won't give you shit about it.

I dont think we will see it all come together till windows mobile 7 comes out or the next iphone version either way its around 12 months or more away and i was sick of waiting for something to come out so i just went with the one which fits best now which is really annoying

but in 12 months or so when a 8 mp fully featured smart phone comes out with possibly a slide out keyboard

it is really strange that no one can put it together

apart from itunes everything is going good so far

yeah its is going ok it is alot less stable than i thought mostly safari crashing and dumping me back to the home screen if i am lucky had to reset it the other night

like the app store and use notes alot at work

multi touch is funny though its not that is does not work well its just not really suited to a mobile would be good on a desktop pc where you have room to move

a couple of extra buttons down the bottom would be nice to there is so much room down there and i dont see why they cant use it

oh its actually very good sorry if my post sounded negative lol

i think its that apple fanboys talk about it like it is absolute perfection and i kinda bought into it a bit but it is worth every penny ;)

It's a LONG way from perfect, that's for sure.

But so long as it's doin' the job, and you don't feel like you wasted your money, that's the main thing!

My flatmate has complained about Safari crashing this week himself. Optus replaced his SIM card today and it seems to be behaving itself now - weird!?

Hasn't been a problem for me though - I must say, since the 2.1 update my phone has been rock solid - not a single crash of app or phone. (Prior to 2.1 it was an absolute dog!)

Been using my iPhone 3g 8 gig for over a month. I have the $30. 6 gig/mo plan. Used 100 megs the first month but im usually in wi-fi range. Installing 2.1 update made it more livable. No problems so far but then again I'm using it with a Mac Pro Quad. There was an update to iTunes yesterday. If it is available for windozz perhaps that will make it work better but don't count on it.
There was a recent comparo between costs for iPhone and Blackberry. I will post it if I can find it. (iPhone is cheaper)

way there was an iTunes update today but it still acts the same the keyboard is acting a bit sluggish as well and I am not sure what is going on with that but I don't wait for it and it seems to still type ok

Actually not that great LOL I just accidentally deleted half my post :(

I read somewhere that it is a good idea to shut the iPhone off about once a day even if only for a minute or so. When the phone is on, press and hold the start/sleep button on the top right until you get a screen asking you to turn it off.

To take a screen shot hold the home button and press the sleep/start button. It will be saved in your photo albums (camera roll)

Have you restarted your computer after the latest upgrade?

In iTunes click on applications. At the bottom click on *check for upgrades* and d/l all if there are any. Then install while your phone is plugged in to automatically sync.

That just sounds like a dangerous mixture!

I have the Blackjack II, and haven't really used it to its full potential. Does anyone else have this phone?

A cool thing I've done with the iPhone this week:

I have a MacMini connected to the plasma in my lounge room, and it uses EyeTV to record/timeshift TV. The EyeTV software has a function that automatically compresses an iPhone-compatible H264 version of the show's recorded. It also has a virtual web server that serves those compressed files over WiFi.

So I can now lie in bed and watch anything recorded in the loungeroom on my iPhone. Kinda stupid, but cool for the very lazy... :-)
