I just saw a video of one of the most popular Bosnian/Serbian singers and she was openly supporting gays on a TV show and she did an awesome job arguing with some homophobic people...now that's really something when you do it on TV in the Balkans.
I am going to buy all of the bitch's CD's even though I don't like her songs.
I know none of you can understand what she's saying but whatevz I'm just sharing my joy.

awww I wish someone can subtitle it, I want to know the context of the video :(

K well this is what they say...too lazy to put it as subtitles.

256,000 dinars were given to a non government organization for an internet portal
Which promotes the rights of the homosexual population

That’s the first time that the gay and lesbian population in Serbia
received an open support of the Serbian government

"That is not a lot of money
but is a big step in changing consciousness of people
most importantly that this country has recognized us
as legal citizens.", says one of the representatives
of this organization

While on one side we can hear salutes for the
progress of human rights
there is also those who think that the state could
have spent the money smarter

Host: Could it have been smarter
or did it go into the right hands
here is Jelena Karleusa
go ahead

Jelena: I think that is one big step for Serbia
and for our nation as a nation that has always showed
tendency to accept, to understand, and to be of a big
understanding..and to not close themselves with primitive
principles. Even though this is a very very specific topic,
homosexuals in Serbia have just started to get some rights.
I have, in contrast to politicians and my friends, always
openly and publicly supported, because, really I don't
go to those low initiatives to get as many votes and to
say what everyone wants to hear, I always say what I think,
and I suport homosexuals. That is absolutely their thing, how
they will live, who they will sleep with. I have a best friend
who is a homosexual. My hairdresser is a homosexual. My make up
artist is a homosexual. My photographer is a homosexual, and then
a homosexual does all my best music videos. That means homosexuals
are people who

Host: *makes weird sound

Jelena: No it really is like that...homosexuals are people who are absolutely
absolutely talented

CLAPPING

Host: you will continue surely after we hear Sasa Pantic.
Go ahead.

Sasa: Disaster.
First they forced us to kneel, I mean Europe and the world,
now they want us to turn around and bend over.

CLAPPING

Host: Jelena Karleusa, go ahead.

Jelena: Don't, Sasa, don't be mad, but since homosexuals
are really people of high class, not even one of them
would bend you over, believe me.

CLAPPING

Jelena: So, you mixed up *clapping goes on*

Sasa: I would hope se

Jelena: just a moment, you mixed up, uhh
if you are homophobic that is absolutely your problem
let people live how they want to live.

Sasa: I'm letting them as long they are far from me.

Jelena: I wasn't finished

Sasa: Far away from me

Host: Just a moment

Jelena: No, they don't want you nor are you their group goal, understand that.
The point is that we need to be open to relaizing, understanding,
and respecting them and not to beat them up in the square, split open
heads, and so on.

Host: Thank you, thank you Jelena

CLAPPING

Host: Now we will give the word to Sasa Pantic

Sasa: I say again may they be far away, because
of the reason that it looks like today you can't get
money until you give your ass to somebody.

CLAPPING

Sasa: That is..*clapping*..and we all need money.
We need money. Now I would, if here on your show I can
ask since Mr. Vucic is a politican, is there a paragraph in the budget
of the ministry of culture where they can give money
for homosexuality?

Host: That is just to inform you...

Sasa: No, so people know..

Host: Aleksandar Vucic

CLAPPING

Vucic: I was planning to avoid this whole topic.
I want to say that I did not see that in any of the
budget parts, but it's possible that it was in another
part that always stays for later, and usually gets the
most money.

CLAPPING

Host:: Sasa Pantic

Sasa: I ask for the simple reason, because then it means,
since it exists, that the prime minister knows that this
paragraph exists and that the budget of the citizens of
Serbia goes to homosexuals. Therefore, and culture too(WTF?)
With respect that somebody..uhh..and what I do considers
wrong does not bother me, and if culture is homosexuality
I am uncultured, salute.

CLAPPING

Host: Jelena Karleusa wants a word

Jelena: This is about informed people.
Sasa you surprise me that, as a smart young man,
you think so shallow and wrong.
The state did not sponsor "homosexuality" here, but
a non government organization which is fighting
for the rights of people who are different.

CLAPPING

Sasa: *says something*

Jelena: Excuse me,just a second. Me, as a person who is many times
not understood in this country, I put myself somehow on the side
of people who are not understood, but they have the right
to live their lives how they wish. I have that luck that I am
a public figure and I can take my clothes off and sing and do whatever
I want, you can jump off the roof. I have that luck that, this
only brings me popularity, but there is people, who, in
a very hard way are fighting for basic human rights, and that is
to live how they want to live.

CLAPPING

Host: Sasa, go ahead you have the word

Sasa: I want to say that in one state, where *unclear* is bigger than the *unclear*, supporting
homosexuality, at the end, is shameful to the man who gave
money..secondly, if the ministry of culture...which is
a part of government, gave money to a non government
organization, so that isn't clear to me..how can they give
money of the people to go to...so..money from us, from you,
from Jelena, form whoever..go to the hands of homosexuals.

CLAPPING

Sasa: I respect the opinion of Miss Jelena Karleusa, I
don't have anything against somebody that thinks that way,
but this is the way I think.

Host: Jelena has the word.

Jelena: Sasa..uhh..homosexuals are not aliens.
Homosexuals are a part of your nation. And that
comedy you do on TV, is also watched by homosexuals, even
though they don't like it because they are in a different
mental state(she basically called him an idiot).
But they are a part of your nation and this country needs
to support every part of their nation.

Host: How big of a part of the nation, Aleksdandar Vucic has the word.
Since now you were able to keep silent on the topic but now we
want to hear what you think.

Vucic: I

*host laughs*

Vucic: ..so...I have children and what interests me the most in life
is the future of my children, and the children of all others..
and I am really not ready to lead a chase against anybody.
I don't like the people who lead a chase yesterday against homosexuals,
but if you ask me, would I spend that money in a different way,
if I was in the government I would spend it in a different way.
I think that we have people who barely make ends meet, people
whose children are hungry in this country, people who are
searching dumpsters to find something so they can feed their
family, I think that money should have been given to them first,
rather than any internet website or internet portal..as
I understand the money went to. But, sadly, that part does
exist for non government organizations..and a big part of money
is given to non government organizations..form Natasa Kandic to
Queeria, and especially in conditions of a crisis, we could
have found spent the money in a different way.

Host: Thank you. Sasa has the word.Go ahead.

Sasa: I think that Serbia and the citizens of Serbia never
maintained that homosexuals and homosexuality should be
supported. That in history, I don't know any of our leaders
was a homosexual or that he supported homosexuality.

Jelena: How do you know?

Sasa: I don't know..I don't know

Jelena: Then how can you say they weren't?

CLAPPING

Host: No, go ahead if you want to finish up

Sasa: And I say, what is the most important thing, that we need
to love each other, to multiply, to be in agreement,
only agreement saves the Serb, and I think that homosexuality
takes us back to something that Europe and that world want to..
the only thing that is healthy in the Serbian nation is family, husband
and wife...uhh..children, to destroy us and take us back to where they
started from.

Host: Thank you very much. Jelena for the end, go ahead.

Jelena: For the end, everything I said tonight was really short, sadly, but
very true. People that think like Sasa, that takes us back to the 17th, 18th,
19th century

*boos*

Jelena: Wait, what are these people booing for?
Do you think that we need to now gather all homosexuals who, by the way,
are probably here too, now we need to take them out in the square and
scourge them, or should we not be interested in who they sleep with..
You were talking about army leaders, how do you know which army leader is
gay or not?
That's his private thing, man.
That takes us back, not to Serbia, but to Europe, because Europe
has an open mind, let's open our brain and finally be a part of Europe

CLAPPING

Host: we are out of time, this is the end.

I like your "kooky" threads better. Don't go getting all mushy and sensitive on me...

I'm outta here.
*sticking out tongue and stomping away*

Thanks for taking the time to transcribe all of that.

It's good to hear that there are people publicly defending the rights of gay people in places where it is sometimes as dangerous to do that as it is to actually be gay.

Great post! (*8*)

Yep it's getting better.
I might have to open up a gay bar over there...of course I will need like....300 security guards outside.
