are you still sensitive to light? should i move this to health and wellbeing (more people with a clue reading there ;) )

Yesterday I woke up feeling tired and then I had a headache and I was really sensitive to light. I was stumbling around to get to my car, cause I had to get to the university. Well I got back and tried to rest and I couldn't sleep, even though I was tired. So today, I was feeling a lot better till right now, I feel my head spinning, it's really weird. I think I'm going to go lay down and if I'm not better by tomorrow I'll see if my parents will let me see a doctor.

1. You're 20, you don't need your parents help.
2. Don't wait, go to the doctor.

that is all.

it is extremely urgent that you go to a doctor IMMEDIATELY !!!

By Ambulance!!

The diagnostic possibilities include several serious things that can require urgent attention.

DO NOT WAIT

The symptoms are classic migraine symptoms.

If you've never had headaches before and there's not an explanation (e.g. ear infection, sinus infection) for your symptoms then you need to see your doctor ASAP. If your symptoms worsen, then a trip to the emergency room would be appropriate.

There are a LOT of things which could cause those symptoms. Considering your age, it's likely to be something pathological. Go to a doctor before you end up in real trouble.

Here are a few thoughts though.
Are you taking any medications? (Clonidine, Guanfacine, SSRIs, Stimulants, etc)

Have you used any illicit drugs?
Some drugs like ecstasy (MDMA) can cause permanent neurological problems.

Do you have a family history of seizures?

Are you hungover? :-)
This one gets me all the time.

Do you only feel like that when you stand up quickly?

Have you given blood recently?

Are you sleeping more than 7 hours a night?

Are you eating enough? (especially carbohydrates)

Were you a jackass to someone recently?
Hey...bad karma is a valid medical diagnosis, right? kidding... I'd be dead by now if it was.

If you have any of the above: go see a doctor.

If you do not have any of the above: go see a doctor.

Hangover.

If it's meningitis, or anything more sinister than a hangover, I'll show my arse in Woolworth's window.
