I think we should demand that 10% of all parks and beaches be given over to the gays.

Lots of public land is given over to sectional interests such as sporting fields and bowling clubs etc etc.

And I say we should have the same.

I thoroughly agree. As a gay, I would love to have access to 10% of all my local parks, where I could go and do gay things or just hang about being gay with my gay friends, talking about gay stuff, playing gay games, and just generally gaying it up in a totally gay manner. Then we could visit the beach and be gay there too, with the added benefits of sea and sand.

As a gay man I expect to have access to 100 percent of all publicly owned spaces, for I pay my taxes to serve the common good.

The English radical, Tom Paine used his generous supplies of common sense with a will to encourage people to employ their brains towards improving the lives of our fellow human being....especially when inviting the commoner to do more than accept the status quo.... as if the wealthy classes should dictate to the rest of the human race where we should visit, gather, and enjoy our God given rights to equality....knowing that all are born, and die with nothing to flaunt....except the life that we make during our moment in time.

“Ignorance is of a peculiar nature: once dispelled, it is impossible to re-establish it. It is not originally a thing of itself, but is only the absence of knowledge; and though man may be kept ignorant, he cannot be made ignorant.”
― Thomas Paine, The Rights Of Man

Oh no. We don't them, they're trouble. They've got issues which complicates the basic issue of enjoying nature!

You could always avoid them by pretending that they do not exist.

Out of sight, out of mind..so to speak.

That's the fashion among the sight, and hearing impaired.

“Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

They could mark off the gay areas with a sort of eruv made of gay bunting like this.

And don't forget to reserve the window seats in cafés for gays. I wanna ogle them pretty boys.

I love an eruv. Brings the community together.

That's right!

.... Tom Paine...

That's right! He was another of the many geniuses spawned by England but I understand (without consulting Google) that he was one of those English heroes that inspired the young revolutionaries of the young and naive America.

^Tom Paine is regarded by many for his undoubted genius providing intellectual stimulus to the British colonists in their struggle for independence from mother England. On a point of pedantry I should note that Tom Paine sailed for the American colonies in 1774...following an invitation from Ben Franklin to join the revolution.

This publication serves as the instrument that propelled the British colonists to rebel:

Beware, ignorance for it flaunts its face, upon those who eagerly embrace mediocrity.

“Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.”
― Thomas Paine

There's no need to be overly self-conscious. 90% of the population aren't.

You're attractive and sensible, EB, and there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy the sensual nature given to you.

What's that got to do with bagging the window seat at Costa?

For the UK you should be more worried that they even have finding to make them some where any one would even go to!

LEISURE by W H Davies

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Now let us sport us while we may;
And now, like am’rous birds of prey,
Rather at once our time devour,
Than languish in his slow-chapp’d power.

Let us roll all our strength, and all
Our sweetness, up into one ball;
And tear our pleasures with rough strife
Thorough the iron gates of life.

Thus, though we cannot make our sun
Stand still, yet we will make him run.
