Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Britney Spears attempted to assassinate real music years ago. She failed, but December 2, 2008 she's trying again!

Yep and she will fail again because despite her real music will NEVER die.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Anyone who says real music is dead must not have heard Erykah Badu's latest "New Amerykah" album. It got completely overshadowed by Janet's "Discipline" but NA was definitely the best, most thought provoking album I've heard all year.

Still waiting on Part Two, Miss Badu.

Hell yes! New Amerykah is one of the best albums ive heard this decade, no lie, Ive been a huge Erykah badu Fan since Baduizm in 97', her shit is always top notch!

Speaking of Soul/HipHop singers, im still waiting for Lauryn Hill to release her Long overdue second studio album! I need more of her music, I cant Listen to The Miseducation forever....lol

oh ya, N Chaka iz my woman!! lol

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Thank god. I thought you were another Britney fan talking about how the Queen has returned.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Thank you for posting this as I'm suffering through the new Kanye West album...

He borrowed Herbie Hancock's vocoder, and is occasionally singing lines into it as a couple people (maybe him and a friend) play Pong.

...for about seven minutes.

Yeah, it's...yeah. I think, somewhere deep inside, I THINK I see what he was trying to do. But he just...didn't.

More power to you. Sounds like you may need it.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Really? They're going to be re-releasing "The Queen" starring Helen Mirren in her Academy Award winning role. Why, this is need for celebration all in itself.

Aren't you just clever. How adorable.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

That's nice to know. Good for you, buddy.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

I actually love Kanye's new album. One of the few bright spots in mainstream music this year. It sure beats the crap Britney and Beyonce put out.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

I'll admit, Kanye's music is amazing. He, however; is not.

Re: I thought they said real music is dead*confuse

Sorry, I stick by my first statement. Kanye's album sounds like a bunch of demos. And whereas I've heard some demos worth listening to, I don't think these qualify as same.

i love soul, but i'm into johann strauss tone poems right now. i don't care if you play an instrument or not, they're epic. just try an play em--it takes a lot of study, but well worth it. listen to any good symphony play "ein heldeleben" just the first two minutes should grab you. if you're used to jazz, hip hop, pop, whatever, you'll reel at the way he takes 30 separate voices and has them play cohesive, moving, timeless music.
