I wish I knew what the Hell I did, but I'm clueless as to why.

This morning, I turned in the shower and felt a streak of pain shoot down my spine!

All I know now, is it hurts to stand at all. Sitting is the only relief I can feel. Lying on the bed won't work, and when I stand, I have to hold on to the counter for at least 60 seconds for the pain to be even bearable enough to walk across the room.

Done ranting now. Just trying to find another outlet to get this pain out of my body!

Where do you feel the pain? On the waist, on the lumbar area, or on the whole back?

Lower back, right near the tail-bone. :(

When I stand up, I get about 3/4 the way up, and it's like a knife stabbing through me.

Ok, I'm going to tell you to do something which might be a bit 'fantastic' (don't do it while standing and don't do it when you still feel pain). Put one of your hand on the area you perceived painful and use your other hand to hit that hand slightly powerful (do it like tapping someone, only this time with a fist). Does it elicit pain?

Try a heating pad and some Ben-Gay. You could also ask the doctor for a muscle relaxer or get something at the pharmacy for muscular pain.

My honey has a bad back also and when it flares up his doctor said to lay on the floor by your sofa put your legs with calfves up on the sofa and your butt up against the sofa bottom, arms at your chest and take deep breaths and rest. But put a heating pad under your back before you lay down. Do this for about 20/30minutes, then take a long hot shower and aim the water stream at your back. Use some Sports cream or ciey-hot and rub on it before you go to bed and again in the am.. Stay off your feet as much as possible and get some good rest.

Hope you feel better..

Well, unfortunately, you are screwed.

Off to the doc with you. You need an xray to make sure that there is nothing seriously out of whack.

When I do it, I take Roboxacet and oxycontin for the first two days. And then wait for the two weeks to go by before it feels better again.

You could also try going to a chiropractor.

use ice not heat

My honey's bother is a doctor, and he says Ice is great for pain part, but you should heat to relax the mussels first to get them to loosen up. Other wise the everything stays in a knot. After the unwind then you can place a ice pack. To relieve the pain

yeah, when i did my million weeks of physical therapy it was heat first - then the ice after the "manipulation" phase.

Chiropractors can do wonders -- i had really bad sciatica a few years ago and i signed iup for a "package" deal - and by the 3rd visit - i could stand up straight - and not limp and after the 39th visit - i never went back and never had the problem again !! and while some people would look forward to it - i did it with NO DRUGS.

jeez....all from turning on a shower? yikes....i hurt myself yawning once.

Geez. If you only knew a massage therapist. Someone that could come to you and wouldn't charge a dime. I wonder if there is anyone out there that would be willing to help.

Steven.

I occasionally have the same problem. It always occurs one to three days after I have exerted myself. Ibuprofen will help with the pain. Try to stay as active as you can. The pain will go away and you will be well soon.

no no no, if you wanna make a whore moan, dont pay her....or him
