That's right, I did.
My mobile service provider was offering a product promotion and I am now the proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
So far, I'm liking it and have d/led and installed anti-malware and anti-virus.
As I also have accounts with Netflix and Crunchyroll (both of which I watch via my Wii-U) I d/led and installed those apps as well. Both of which look quite nice on the tablet screen.
I Skype too, and upon d/ling and installing that app, I quickly logged in to see how things looked and almost immediately, a good friend from Japan instantly called me. He's actually the guitarist from my old band Tux which I was in back from age 22 - 27. We jam online via Skype over my 'puter but it was nice to see the app performing flawlessly on my tablet.
I've been wanting a tablet for a while now as I find I often want to check and research things online after watching a documentary or nature program, or even just something that sparks my interest in watching some other show. This required a trip to my bedroom in which my 'puter is located, not an onerous task by any means but mildly irksome and annoying often.
With the tablet, I can now check things out without having to leave my living room and yes, I do so often enough that I'll certainly be making good use of the tablet as a research tool.
Certainly I have a cell phone that can access the net but I absolutely despise trying to read ANYthing on it's small, dinky screen.
I also have no doubt I'll make use of the tablet out and about though the first order of business in that regard is the purchase of a decent protective cover for it.
All in all, I'm pleased.
And why am I sharing such useless, substantially less than hot for a Hot Topic forum info with you all? Because I can.
And I betcha thought I was going to be talking about hooking up with, or meeting someone. HAW!
