You know that newer Macs are unix based .. right :) ?
 
^Aye, they are,... but I turn mine off when not in use and back on again when needed, so that must count as a reboot, right?
 
I never understood the hazzle about keeping a long uptime just for the sake of it.
 
When I last used a unix machine, I'd would run a background process, go off for lunch then come back and the results would be waiting for me. Back in the day, when nothing was fast.

That's every workday for me (on the mac desktop I'm using as a unix sandbox server). I am in love with the UNIX screen command/utility, and would give it the best blowjob in the world if I could.
 
Not to mention that the linux console is still the most powerful "swiss army knife" in the computer world.
