No point to this. Just thought I would share.

A panic room would be nice too.

Yes I watch too many movies.

I have a recurring dream about a house I used to visit to play with a friend when I was about 6 years old.
I don't know if it was real or not but I dream it has a secret staircase from the lounge that goes up behind the fireplace to a narrow landing where there is a spare bed. Then it leads down the other side of the house. But I have never found out where it comes out.
It is not a scary dream, quite comforting in a way. A reminder of an innocent youth

More like you watch too many reality, all those things are very practical for a number of reasons.

We actually made a secret staircase door under the one set of stairs in order to delight children.

I have one in my basement hidden behind a bookcase. Visitors always find it pretty cool..

You do realize this sounds a lot more creepy than you intended, right?

I'd like to have a "gym-garage" with tapis roulants, weights and the industrial pavement where I can ride the skateboard and do other physical activities without having to find the "spot" like punks do or drive a long distance.

I think it only possible by intentionally misreading the post. He said the surprise door was there to delight children, not abduct or harm them.

This year at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City they added a new bar. It's behind a candy display in what seems to be a gift shop.
If prohibition ever comes back they're all set.

I've designed a couple of houses where the Library contains a walk-in Bar hidden behind a bookcase. We (clients, contractor and myself) have all discovered it's more trouble than it's worth when the bookcase contains actual books, as opposed to just book spines.

"Priest Holes" (where RC priests could hide during the Reformation-period persecutions in Great Britain) are an oft-used device in the television mystery series that the UK specializes in.
