Have you talked to your family and friends about this? Surely this is not something that you should hide from them. You may be ok with it and yeah it's your own life, but think for a moment what the repercussions would be to them. Even if your family disapprove at least they wouldn't be surprised when someone they know finds out and tells them that their son is performing in gay porn.

You're only 21, why not wait for a couple of years to give yourself more time to find out if this is really what you want and should do. As pointed above, going into gay porn now will ruin your chances in other career options in the future. Think about it seriously.

I did say that a lot of guys who do gay porn supplement their incomes by doing things like bartending, go-go dancing, and escorting. Of the three, escorting is probably the most lucrative (if you are able to command high-paying clients).

I think they do it for the thrill of being a porn star, and because they find it genuinely sexy. The money just makes it possible for them to spend time on it, instead of having to work at a job they hate to pay the bills.

I do think that some of them are fucked up in a variety of ways though. For some people a career in porn is a sexy choice, for others, a symptom of something they should be medicated for. And I do believe some studios exploit that or turn a blind eye to it. There is a whole genre of "I'm going to get HIV anyway so I might as well see how many bareback loads I can take from people I just met yesterday and then film it" and I think they might as well just go into the psych wards to film that kind of porn.

Does porn make someone unemployable? Dunno. I would hire a former porn star. But I've already hired everyone that I can for the foreseeable future.
