but when I try to it says I need Quicktime 7 Pro. :( I WON'T follow the advice given because tha would be bad but IN THEORY (;)) is there any way to get around this? Thanks for any help! :D

Do you know the exact address of the movie file? If so, enter the following line into your browser's address bar, where you exchange "###" with the actual movie address:

javascript:document.write('<a href=\"http://###\">Download file</a>');

Right click the link that appears and save-as.

@ hty: I can watch it, but I want to save it.

@ Paws: Thanks man, but unfortunatley I don't know the exact addy either. :(

Contrary to what has been posted Quicktime has NOTHING to do with the iTunes Store. Quicktime is an indepenedent program, like WMP. For $29.00 for the PRO version is pretty cheap and it is good until the enxt full upgrade! I thought you could hit the button on the extreme right at the bottom to save to desktop whether you have the PRO version or not. Some websites won't allow you to download a video whether you have Quicktime or not.

Okay

Save the website as file ->Save as. If possible only save the file as webpage html only under the save as type.

Now open the file you just saved in wordpad or notepad not microsoft word, internet explorer, or some other program.

You should not be able to see all the html lines of code.

You need to find the line of code that has the internet address for the quicktime movie only, not all the other borders, and stuff websites display around it. You are suching for a line of code that looks like this http://www .... .mov
. Use the search function of wordpad for ".mov" will make finding that specific line of code easier.

Now copy the web address part of the line of code and post it into your internet browser. The movie should load again like it normally does except besides the movie there is nothing besides a white background. Once the movie is fully loaded do file save as. You can now save the video clip as a pure quicktime movie.*

*I know firefox allows you to save the movie as a pure quicktime movie, I don't know what IE allows.

I always forget about the easy way.

WYSIWYG: the pro version IS a gimmick. There is no need to buy it as you can do the same tasks with free programs available for Windows.

After watching the clip you can try to find it from your browser's cache and save it from there.

In firefox type this in the address bar: about:cache

then choose list cache entries for disk cache device.

press control+f and do a search for ".mov" when you find it right-click-save-as it

Ditch Quicktime 7 Pro and download Quicktime Alternative, its free and it gives you Pro so you can save movies from websites. I can't believe these people still use Quicktime 7 Pro.

try installing iTunes without quicktime :)

try uninstalling WMP ..

I have Quicktime Alternative, but it only came with the codec of the free version:confused:

Thats strange because I installed Quick Time Alternative and when it was installed it automatically gave me a serial number. Like the picture below, you can use the serial number to use for Quicktime Pro. Its better than doing all the other hard to do methods.
