I want to stop downloading

Hey Everyone!!

I want to stop downloading from torrent sites because the risk of getting caught is scaring me. I just saw on the front page of yahoo about that woman that has been fighting the RIAA for several years over 24 songs. I do not want that to be me.

All I need to do is delete the filing sharing software from my computer and the files correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

No, all you need to do is stop downloading files illegally.

The file sharing software itself isn't illegal as you can also download/share legal free files. As for the files you already downloaded, you can get away saying you bought them in digital form in an online shop.

umm .. no. The files can be fingerprinted and will be recognized as the same ones that you get on filesharing websites. So if you want to be on the safe side just delete them.

I've been finding all my rare music from Google. Maybe you should uninstall your torrent program and just use that.

if you are worry about getting caught pirating then you should not be downloading any copyright materials without paying for them via legitimate online store. There is no 100% safe way to do it illegally. Everything you do online leave a trail behind. Your cha nce of getting caught depends on how easy you make yourself traceable and how badly they wanted to get you.
