I was all set to blow my customer's walk after mowing and trimming their yard. My $230. back pack blower was gone! I put cables and locks on everything when not in use, but when working I don't want to lock and unlock as it eats up time. Live and learn. I had to stop and go buy another blower, losing a blower to a thief sucks! I was pissed off, I felt violated.

Have you ever been ripped off? Do you hate 'click bait' thread titles?

Seattle is having a crime wave this year as thieves targeting everything from pedestrians, parked cars and home break ins. Seattle police can't keep up with the volume of reports flooding in. Elderly women are especially targeted as thieves grab their belongings then slam them onto the sidewalk. The injured victims at Harborview Medical Center are telling heartbreaking stories to local reporters.

Years ago I had a brand new snow blower swiped right from my front walk when I stepped inside to tell my wife how well it worked. I was sooo pissed, for years afterward, whenever it snowed I'd listen for it and hope to ambush the crook, but it never happened.

@'eats up time'

Found out you can't afford to pay yourself $230 per hour (or a few minutes) didn't you?

Seriously, though, theft is a personal assault. Had it fallen off the vehicle, or just gave out, you wouldn't feel violated, or that you have a thief in the area to contend with. My sympathies.

Had I taken it, you'd find it down the road in the ditch. I hate those noisy fuckers. LOL

That's why i don't even leave the garden furniture out, gits will lift anything.

My reaction to theft is unreasonable. I want painful death to those whom have stolen from me. And I want to be the one to personally execute them

Which, as Cormac knows, isn't as easy (or fun) as it might seem.

Sorry to hear about your day -- and hopefully you're better at keeping your cool.

This is really hard to hear. It seems like I've spent more time in Seattle than I have in Atlanta the last 15 years.

I suppose it's karma. I once stole 7 lamas. When asked why I said the I wanted 'a daily lama'

We had a brand new car stolen from our apartment garage...and then I caught the fucker who stole the first one trying to steal the brand new one that replaced it.

It always leaves you feeling vulnerable.

But as long as no one is getting hurt....that is what insurance is for.

In Shit-Cago you gotta keep 4 eyes on your shit at all times I trust no one!!

This is bad. I had a flowering kale plant in my front yard. When i woke up the next morning , it was gone. Some one took during the night.

Last night a neighbor wanted to borrow a saw from me and I told him that I didn't have one as I didn't want to let him see what's in my shed. I have a lot of valuable tools and a $550. bike in it. There are at least 3 adults in that home and a skill saw is about $20., cash in your bottles and buy one.

/\@ about $20, cash in your bottles

How much does a bolt cutter cost?

I have co-workers like that. They want to borrow home tools. Too cheap the buy them, but will spend money on buying the latest sneakers or fashion clothes. Misplaced priorities. clothes go out of style but you will always need home tools when you own a home.

Someone pissed me off last week when they stole a really nice and expensive tire gauge I had in my car. It was a Christmas gift from my dad.

Worst thing is it had to be at work, it's the only place I ever leave my car unlocked.

Don't even need bolt cutters. The only thing a lock is good for is keeping out the casual thief. If they want in, they'll get in.

You hate to think that co-workers would do it, or neighbors.

It's too bad there are such people.

I like the title of this thread. That would keep the customer coming back.
