I was robbed!

Holy Hell! Elwood I'm sorry that this happened to you. My thoughts are with you sir.

Sorry to hear that! At least you are ok!
I have been broke into 3 times. 2 times this year and once a couple of years ago. The 1st time I was camping and someone broke in my front door and used my house for the weekend. They took nothing but they slept on my sofa and ate my food. The weird thing was that my check book was on the desk in the dinning room. They must have been watching me when I left because they seen that my dog went with us. I have a very large dog and he does not like anything or anyone! When I called the police they said it must be a family member or a friend since nothing was missing. I think we scared them off because when we got home all the lights where on and so was the TV.
The 2 times this year I found out it was my sister and her friends. So I got smart and got ADT. I have a yard sign now and stickers on the windows. I do not leave home now with out it set!
Good luck with the clean up!

Sorry, Elwood.

It happened to me in '98.
While I was at work, some crack-head broke into my apartment and decided to stay for several hours.
He turned on my A/C (South Florida in July), ate my food, drank my booze, took a shower, put on my clothes, stole everything with a resale value and left.
I can't describe the feeling...

Some 6 years ago, someone broke in into my Vienna, Austria condo. The only thing they stole was one relatively pricy camera. Fortunately, they missed a envelope with 80 $100.00 notes atop an expensive stereo, which my ex bf just brought in from the bank and left at our home, before going out for lunch.

They did manage to make a $3'000.00 demage to the special 'security door'. They also broke into the chimney??? hoping that there was a hidden safe vault in there or something??? And they left an utter chaos.

When my ex returned to our home, he had a complete nervous breakdown, and I spent an hour calming him down.

The insurance picked up the bill. The housekeeper tidied up the place and we did have to call in a construction company to replace the unused chimney doors and few bricks.

I did put in an alarm system.

I also made sure my home insurance policy covers everything. It does cost an arm and a leg, but I do enjoy having peace of mind, too.

Sorry, Elwood, for the bad experience, you had to go thru after an 18 hour day...

Elwood, I am so sorry about the break-in!

I know after my experience of the same, I did NOT sleep well in my house for a long time; because of "them" having been there, knowing where I sleep and everything about me........that's an uneasy feeling, knowing that all your "stuff" has been under scrutiny of a complete stranger.......one who you do NOT even know!

Please, do check carefully to ensure you did NOT forget something of value that you've forgotten.......for it might be gone.

No one has the right to just take something that doesn't belong to 'em, right?
