I was shocked by "Puppy Throwing Girl." This is a story of what animals do.

On the links below, is a story of the kind of compassion that animals are capable of, people mistreat and abuse animals because, I guess, they feel they are different, not like us.

I would agree.

It starts around 15:00 into the program.

If you were also saddened, shocked, or outraged by the "Puppy Throwing Girl," turn it into action. Support groups that are friends to animals. Volunteer at a local shelter. It won't change what happened in Bosnia, but some form of abuse towards animals is probably happening in your community right now, and you can make a difference.

If you were also saddened, shocked, or outraged by the "human abusing human," turn it into action. Support groups that are friends to humans. Volunteer at a local hospital and self-help group. It won't change what happened in the world, but some form of abuse towards humans is probably happening in your community right now, and you can make a difference.

True that. Perhaps we should simply be kind and compassionate to all creatures on this earth, our species, or not. Thanks for the post.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the puppy throwing video. Reading the description was horrifying enough. I enjoyed the reading rainbow video the OP posted and wish more people would be more kind to all creatures as well.

When My father was a little boy on the farm, about 3 or 4 years old, he found out that the unwanted litters of kittens were drowned in the pond and raised such holy hell that his parents never did this again.

As you can guess, their farm was eventually overrun with cats, but my father loved them all.

Fortunately, the idea of spaying and neutering cats and dogs meant that we never had unwanted litters of kittens or puppies.

Today, we share our home with the strays who turn up here and get them all spayed and neutered.

We also support spay/neuter clinics in our area and in Rome, Italy at the Largo Argentina.

Our own vet goes to the Caribbean twice or three times each year to rescue dogs abandoned there.

I also urge everyone to turn your horror and disgust at what people do to animals into something positive and powerful by giving a donation or volunteer time to your local animal shelter.

I saw it the other day. I kinda wanted to cry when I heard their barks when they hit the water.

Aww... you DO have a soul. This is a RARE touching moment.

What a great post. Thank You.

Your father's experiences helped shaped who you are today. My parents gave me similar lessons. And I am encouraged to see that your experiences translated into some pretty great actions.
