I will admit it.....

We haven't watched it but it looks perfectly charming.
 
I loved the first series but will reserve judgement til I watch the second as it appears to concentrate too much on other characters apart from the the main boys
 
I'm glad you like it.

It's a bit to twink for me. I like coming of age stories, but am not on romance from that age. I think I associate romance with college or the 20's age group.

I felt similar at first, but it is so well done, and I so wish there was something like that when I was in high school. That could not have been made back then. A same-sex kiss was unheard of, not to mention well-developed characters.
 
A sickly sweet cliché storm whose two-dimensional/unrealistic character's actors were obviously chosen for their pretty boy looks rather than their acting abilities; same can be said about Love, Victor. But, as long as there's an audience for it, then to each their own. *shrug*
 
Is it just me or is all this snogging BEFORE having sex the norm now?
I didn't kiss a guy for years after I was having sex regularly

No, lots of us make out before we have sex, even the first time. Always have.

It isn't just you, there are plenty of gay men whose experience matches yours, but kissing and making out (I will use the word snogging only when I am on British soil) before sex has been the norm, even for gay men, for quite a long time.
 
It follows the graphic novel very closely, almost word for word in some scenes.

Well, I have just finished watching series 2 and my doubts were unfounded.
I still can't believe that the two leads have spent two series necking and never had sex, not even a wank. As the characters, not in real life.

If not, Netflix wouldn't dare depict them as having had sex.
