I wish we lived in Roman times

Can't see myself living in Roman times. How in the world did they make friends without Facebook and Twitters???

I hear that you Americans and English have re-enactment groups to fight the Gettysburg battle and the 1066 Invasion.

I wish there was a 'Roman times' re-enactment group.:D

Once had to wear roman soldier costume for a drama production, it was very authentic with skirt & leather breast plate. Made me sooo horny when wearing it, my cock was hard as hell when i took it off, had to j/o every night.

Yes but not the second "Holy" Roman empire because it is mainly religion that has caused all this homophobia and hatred of gays in society.

Along with preaching that everything enjoyable and fun was a sin and you'll burn in hell for eternity.

Oh, yeah, Roman times. I would've preferred to live in the fun, non religious ones to what I've had to endure at the hands of the hypocritical fucktard religious freaks during my lifetime.

Feed them to the fucking lions.

"Let's go scrub the kitchen floor!"
"Oh, could we?!"

Pardon the rant. It felt good, though.

Monotheism performed the 1th gay holocaust. So, our cultural heritage is stolen. We must restaure it completely.

Unlike the Early Christians, the Greeks were staunch believers in family. Extra-marital homosexual relationships tended to prevent extra-marital heterosexual ones, and reinforced the stability of the nuclear family. But pre-Constantinian Christianity's contempt for family and 'Family Values' was considered dangerously anti-social, and, together with Christians' refusal to acknowledge any Roman Emperor as a god, led to their persecution - though a persecution much less than Christian propaganda would lead us to believe. Indeed the persecution of 'pagans' and the destruction of 'idols' and 'obscene' statues was a continuing pogrom, a holocaust far more destructive than the later depredations of the Goths and Huns and Vandals.
Early Christians abhorred the family - recognising like Diogenes that it was an excluding, patriarchal cell. Thus they abhorred marriage, and it was not until the 13th century that it became a Catholic sacrament. Early Christians abhorred property, abhorred the body, food and wine for pleasure, and all things "of this world" - especially sex and money, the terrible Twin Towers of our culture

did gay people even exist in roman times?

People have been the same since "caveman" days.

Just as intelligent, just as devious, just as sexually various....

All homophobia does not come from religion. It pops up in societies at different times in history, and can occur at any time.

Weimar Germany was very tolerant of homosexuality, then Hitler took power - and paragraph 175 was again enforced.

It can happen anytime, and we always have to be vigilant about it. We make great scapegoats because there have always been, and there always will be very few gay people. Most straight people don't understand us, or our relationships.......

Homophobia can come from anywhere.

^Yes, that's why I said "mainly" religions but now I realize that was still a poor choice of words. I should've said "some."

Anyway, I apologize for my rant.

Hating the institution that vilified me doesn't solve anything. It just puts me in the same category of intolerance and ignorance.

Don't get me wrong - I am no friend of religion. I agree with Hitchens who said it is a "scar across all humanity." It is a scar of ignorance and superstition.
