Iceland's Penis Museum Gets Human Specimen For Display After Man Dies

Sigurdur Hjartarson, who runs the Phallological Museum in the tiny Icelandic fishing town of Husavik, says Arason's organ will help complete his extensive collection of whale, seal, bear, and other mammalian members.

OMG, we were SO close to that place when my dad and I hired a car and tried to do the circular route, but the roads in northern Iceland are mostly untarred, and it's a nightmare travelling on them in a small car. It's like mile upon mile of rough stone dirt track. You're limited to about 15mph. We gave up near Akureyri, as I remember.

There's a fascinating volcanic area near there. It was like an alien landscape. There were stumps of rock making noises as smoke and steam billowed from them, there were pits of bubbling dark blue mud, and the small hills nearby were coloured red and yellow, and the whole place had a pungent smell.

To properly explore Iceland, you really need an off-road 4x4 vehicle equipped with special tyres. There's only so much you can do in a small 3-door hatchback.

It reminds of that (they say) Rasputin's

The moment I saw this thread, I thought about if you were still posting on JUB. ..|

Have they tarred the eastern section of the main circular road since I was there 8 years ago? :)

Yes, I'm still lurking about here :D

Most of the main road is tarred/paved now but I think some parts of the east are still gravel. I think you can go the whole circle on proper roads if you take some detours from the main road in the east.
