  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Iconically & stereotypically gay films

Jesus, can you not just accept that I was simply, innocently wondering if anybody knew of any films that straights considered "gay films". Did you fail a degree in psychology or something? Stop trying to look deeply into things mystic Meg and just accept that my question was a simple one. WITH NO HIDDEN FUCKING MEANING.

I was not uneasy, as he makes comments like that all the time. I do apologize if I didn't make it clear that his 'storming off' was flamingly dramatic. It's called banter, which I'm glad I can have with one of my closest straight friends. I often reply with "go lick a vag". Greece really is a dull place, God!

Be happy that I have chosen to address your real need to know what lay behind your straight friend's remarks, rather than subscribe to yet another (of many) threads devoted to idolising alleged gay addiction for such films as Flashdance.;)

In my line of work preciseness is an absolute necessity.

Are you in the gay porn industry? 'cause last time I checked that's what this forum was mainly about. If every poster posted/replied using the lingo and buzzwords of our respective industry it'd be one giant word salad. Now, enough sucking the oxygen out of the thread.

I am not employed, nor have I ever been employed in making porn.

I am hardly a sucker for anyone apart from my partner.;)

Occasionally we can raise the profile of this forum if only to remind us that there is more to life than sucking up to the lowest common denominator.:D

As to the topic in question, I'd say My Own Private Idaho, Birdcage, or Brokeback.

Birdcage (the original Italian/French production) definitely, yes.

Brokeback attracted as many derisory observations, as approval on this site.

Private Idaho is much more about disaffected youth than being an example of the iconically gay. But my favourite if only for the performance of River Phoenix.

Birdcage... definitely for me.... I was always amazed at a few gay bars I went to that some of the clientele knew so much about musicals and had these crushes on Diva's being so diva-istic...I thought maybe I would have to turn in my gay card cuz I have NO interest beyond the singing and dancing talent... no real fascination.

That said ................the most homo erotic but not really meaning to be was '300'...

Or anything with ancient battle wear.... yum

so tell your workmate you prefer movies with lots of hot hard sweaty men and no dancing... lol

As to having ridiculous overriding suspicious meanings behind a simple question.....

Some people need attention.

How could anyone not mention PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT? Sal Mineo in FORTUNE AND MEN'S EYES. VIRGINIA WOOLF. Brando, Taylor, Kieth in REFLECTIONS IN A GOLDEN EYE. Doubt if straights have even heard of the EYE movies; just wonder how many gays.

Am I too old? What about KING OF HEARTS?

Someone has their forums confused.

Really?!? Nobody said Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Shame on you all. Who doesn't love Tim Curry in drag?

Hell I even the time warp at a gay wedding.

Boy, I never would have realized that was Don Johnson if I hadn't been told.

All About Eve is iconically gay - it taps into every gay man's love of Bette Davis and the theatre!

:D

And it has the sharpest, bitchiest script of any film made before or since!
