I'd KILL For A Decent Mug of Tea.

I was wondering how that would go over. Any idea how long you're going to have to boil? Or any idea how long that taste is going to last after you don't have to boild any longer?

has someone been adding a little scotch in their tea Neil?

Hmmmm... what would you do for the opportunity to launder Brad Pitt's pee stained underwear?

Last I heard, two or three, or more days yet.

Here's hoping that storm heading your way doesn't screw things up even more. I'm guessing Tofino isn't having that water problem anymore? For weeks they were trucking it in. Now, I imagine they're pumping it out.

It was only a matter of time for the west coast's stunning beauty to come and bite them in the ass. That's what happens when you're able to stare at pretty mountains all day.

Ugh, I'm here with you Gery. This dirty water thing absolutely sucks. I can still get my coffee a the local Starbucks though, I've been told that it gets hot enough to kill any bacteria that might be present. I've boiled the water out of my tap, but there is no way in hell that I'm drinking it, it's just for emergencies now. I've just loaded up on lots of juice, but I'll get sick of that pretty soon.

And I heard this morning that the advisory could last for weeks! WEEKS?!??! I hope the rain stops soon:-s

Guys get a water filter they are cheap and very effective. My water is stored in a rusty old tank, I put it through the filter jug before boiling for tea, and the tea tastes better than that made from domestic tap water.

I use a Brita filter. However, said filter does not filter out bacteria such as E.coli nor parasites, which is the concern right now.

The idea is that the filter removes particulates and the chemicals added to the water so removing the bad taste. Then you boil it to kill the bacteria and parasites. It works for me, my tea tastes great and I haven't been ill in over 20 years.

Ger, what about just buying a package of cone coffee filters and maybe a cheapo funnel from the dollar store? I saw on the weather channel that the water looks pretty disgusting. Maybe the coffee filter would catch a lot of that. Cheaper than Brita filters, too.l
