  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

If all the States in the USA were represented by food, what food would each state be represented by?

According to Google California produced over 540 million pounds of cabbage in 2021
I hadn't noticed the cabbage or maybe they are hiding the cabbage fields though I think we are mostly known for grapes and artichokes and halibut  off the coast

I will rep Oregon since no one else have mentioned it.

We are known for our watermelons (the town I grew up in), cherries (where I currently live) or many seafoods such as crab (where I was born). I have also heard we produce a lot of green beans, grapes for wine and hops.

Toasted Ravioli.
Ice cream cones, invented at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair
Just what is toasted Ravioli?? I only learned of it's existence a year or two ago. I think I saw it in the weekly grocery store on-sale flyer. I'm assuming it is ravioli with a coating that is toasted rather than prepared in sauce? Sure I could Google the answer, but gotta participate in this discussion.

I've seen toasted Ravioli mostly made by breading cooked ravioli and deep frying them.

Never made them myself.

For South Carolina, the other thing besides boiled peanuts would be red rice.

California: Wine, sourdough bread, avocado toast, almonds, balboa bars,
My first business training course out of state was back in 1993 in San Francisco. I stayed on Fisherman's Wharf and tried those sourdough bowls with chowder. To this day, that is probably the best sourdough I have ever had, including the bread I made myself for years.

Salt Water Taffy

I might have said it already.

What are you gonna do? Sue me?

Tough on the dentures tho'

California: Guacamole to be sure, followed by fish tacos, followed by California roll.
