  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

If I Had A Hundred Thousand Dollars...

I do know that. Painfully. But I think it is worth pursuing in an effort to develop the technology. I think I may be the only one who's posted in this thread who finds that what has been developed thus far, in the guise of this automobile, to be fascinating.

Not at all, I too am interested in the technology, the batteries, type of motor, efficiency etc. It is also interesting to note that over the years General Motors has developed and patented several green technologies that work. Once they have the patents they drop the technology because it is not in their interests to move away from the infernal combustion engine. So they are developing these technologies to protect themselves from change and also denying us the choice and buggering up the planet. Don't you just love big corporations.

Oh and I would like the car, I'd buy a wind generator and solar panels to go with it. I have a friend who uses an electric milk float as his sole means of transport, he carries a generator on the back in case the batteries go flat!

Its electric.. how dull! Probably the same as driving an automatic... ZZZZzzzzzz......

Looks nice though.. just give me a petrol engine anyday.

Don't say it's dull before you try it, bear in mind it has the equivalent of 245 horse power 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. It has regen braking, which is your engine braking, used to recharge the batteries. You downshift from 2nd to first to maximise it. It has smooth torque from 0 to 130 mph. I think it sounds like fun, and with a service interval of 25,000 miles fuel cost equivalent to 135 MPG 250 miles per charge it could be the way forward once we clean up the way we produce electricity.

Internal combustion all the way for me I'm afraid. You cant beat the sound of the induction, the roar, the howl of the exhaust and the whistle of the turbo.... followed by the "Tschhhh!" of the dump valve.

Maybe you'd like it better if you were deaf! I guess I'm one of those boring people who just want a vehicle to get them from A to B as cheaply as possible. In this case the car ain't cheap but as technology progresses and oil runs out, it will be the way to go. They may even put in samples of a swallowing induction manifold orgasmic turbos and relaxed dump valves with the roar of an exhaust fart. ;)

It charges in 3 1/2 hrs so a 1 hour break should give you another 75 miles or so. Top speed 130 MPH. But of course it is not for everybody and I appreciate that.

Sadly, $100k is not what it used to be.

This would not buy you a fraction of a garage, where I live, let alone a fancy car.

So, we've got to work and work harder for a few more of $Ks.
