Twins have a different psychology. Hell, their psychology is so different they can even invent their own damn language that even the best linguists in the world can decipher.
I don't think the "twincest" you speak of is as common as you would make out. It does occur but to say it is "extremely common" is taking things a bit far.
I am half of identical twins. My bro is also gay. Although we are very close and very open with each other, we have never had any form of sexual contact. Our research has infromed us about twins having sexual relationships and we have discussed the matter quite openly. It was something we mutaully decided was just not on.
And yes, we do have our own language, patois as we call it. It is a mixture of Thai, English and words which have no meaning except to us, e.g. ushion = sugar. We also use common phrases like "never on Sunday" which means their is a danger we may be overheard. It drives our parents nuts!
