With outright hate for Trump and no great love for Hilary, which President from the past would you most like to meet ?

I'd pick Lincoln and Bill Clinton.

Oh, I wouldn't want to meet Trump. I just happened to be there when Clinton was having dinner in town. He did a sort of receiving line and shook hands with some people. I was one. It was nice to say "Oh, I got to shake his hand" but it was not surprisingly very perfunctory for everybody involved.

I meant Andrew Johnson, We can forgive him the slaves as they all seemed to have them back then, the duelling is a bonus to.

There have been a surprising number of people who appear to have sort of stumbled into the job. It'd be interesting to get his take on things. :)

Washington would be fun, if it could be him coming to the future and seeing how the country turned out.

If we don't limit the topic to one specific geographical location and change president to political leader, then it is Winston Churchill. :)

Chester Arthur.

No president came into office with people expecting less from him than Chester Arthur. Arthur’s only job before becoming Vice-President was Collector for the Port of the city of New York.

Zachary Taylor.

Zachary Taylor is one of America’s most forgotten presidents. He died less than two years into his presidency, is one of a few presidents who made no Supreme Court nominations, made no memorable speeches, and got none of the legislation he wanted approved by Congress.

The reason so many biographies of Lincoln have been published is because, in addition to being the pivotal figure in American history, without which the history of the world would be much different, he is among the most enigmatic. A true Cinderella figure--or ugly duckling--who pulled himself up by his bootstrings, most biographies start asking the question; why another biography, and the answer that this author finally understands him. Many wrote that he was the ugliest person they ever met, until he smiled or told joke.
He was beset by depresdion all his life and few in history have had as much reason to be depressed. The psychological burden which he bore during the war is impossible to imagine. In a real sense he caused the war and at times was the only thing holding the country together. But he did.
How could you not want to meet this man?

My mom's older brother was a friend of Richard Nixon. I first met "Tricky" when I was just a kid, and he was Vice President. Very interesting guy.

In spite of his general image, he was really generous, friendly, and even funny. Truly a "Nice Guy"!

He was also schizophrenic, with a deep vein of paranoia, likely coming from his early childhood experiences. He was raised in a struggling, poor, Quaker family.

He managed to accomplish some amazing things. Unfortunately, his "Fall from Grace" eclipsed all of that. #-o ](*,)

I would actually like to be able to chat with ALL of our former presidents. Each had their own incredible qualities, and pitfalls.

Contrary to what the populace may wish to think, ALL of them were only Human, just like the rest of us.

That is also one of the awesome pillars of our Constitution, and corner stone of the U.S. of A's Experiment, which we're still working on, especially now!

The one I'd really like to have a beer with is Barack! He is one "kewl", sharp, dude! And, he's still with us!

I am less than thrilled with our current choices in the upcoming election.

I'm convinced that "The Donald" truly believes he is Above everyone else. He also seems to be a lot more "thin skinned" than even Nixon ever was! :help:
