...where would you go to and why? Either recent past, distant past, or history book past, and you get to spend one whole day there, - anywhere at all - where would you go and why?

I'd just like to see what people's responses would be.

Because I'm a weather junkie, my choice is actually quite difficult.

Number One >> I would like to be at one of the 3 major TV stations in Oklahoma City on the evening of the May 3rd, 1999 tornado. That night was one of the most important and history book-rewriting tornado outbreaks in modern history (within the past 20 or 30 years).

Number Two >> I would like to spend time at the studios of WTVJ NBC Miami as they rode out Hurricane Andrew, back in '92

(Here's how big of a weather geek I am >> They actually made a made-for-TV movie a few years ago about then-chief meteorologist Bryan Norcross and the WTVJ-TV staff as they rode out Andrew. It was actually quite good. :corn:)

^^ No. You're perfectly safe. 24 hours in any place you want, then you'll be brought right back. Them's the rules...per the Doctor.

I could pop up on the Grassy Knoll, just to be sure....

But in reality, I'd probably go back to something more ancient; Rome or Greece, perhaps...not sure for what, but for something.

In that case I would like to go to the day Atlantis became lost, if it was a real place at all.

I would like to meet Richard Oppenheimer i watched an interview that he done
where he pronounced those now famous words FOR I HAVE BECOME DEATH.
Even now this sends a shiver down my spine , the man looked so lost and
grief-stricken. As i understand it he also lost his family because they could no
longer live with him.

If I could go back in time knowing what I know now, I would had dealt with a certain obstacle that I face now everyday.

That's somewhat a tough question for me.. I absolutely love history... I would absolutely love to know how people lived thousands of years ago.....

I guess I wanna visit Ancient Greece (I wanna see how gays lived back then), Ancient Egypt (perhaps meet Cleopatra or Khufu)... Oh and I wanna be there when the last dinosaur on earth perished

High School

If I knew then what I know now........I could make theirs lives more miserable then they made mine.

oh the secrets I've kept..:p

About seven years ago, I made a decision to change careers. That decision was only fruitful for a short time. I would like to go back and change my future by not changing careers.

For me, I would go back and see the Acropolis when it was new. I would meet, and watch Alexander the Great in his prime. I would visit the ancient Minoan's on Crete, and see the civilization on Santorini before it blew.

For someone I love and care very much for, who had a crappy childhood I would make sure he didn't go through the trauma's he suffered and had to endure.

There are probably a few, but if I had to narrow it down to one day, it's probably the day I was born so I could see my mother's face as I was brought down by the stork.

Also, since I'm feeling patriotic, the first reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Continental Congress.

As someone said earlier, I suppose it would be great to be able to circumvent the horrific events of September 11, 2001.

Save Harvey Milk from being murdered (November, 1978).

Well, since someone said 9/11, I'd take out a loan here, go back to the turn of the century and invest the money in IBM General Electric, and a few other companies. Then I'd come back to the future and enjoy my wealth.

hmmm, this is the stuff of science fiction.

I wonder, if you were able to change the events of that day - how many people born since that day would not have been born. How many people found relationships after the horrors of that day that never would have found each other.

Think, for instance if you could have prevented Hitler - and WWII never occurred - maybe nobody born after 1945 would be here today. Men would have met different woman - they would have had kids at different times - there would be a world full of people, but not the ones who are here today. (Would the world of today be better or worse? I don't know)

After 11Sep, i totally changed how i dealt with people. I gave up on the laundry list of what i would need to be happy. I realized that i only needed a couple of things. I doubt that my children would have been born had it not been for that day.

But let's forget all that. If you were able to go back to 10Sep01 - What would you do to stop it? Who would have believed you? I suppose you could have gotten on one of the flights with your own box cutter and challenged the terrorists.

Now you've made me ruminate and extrapolate.

Imagine if a common citizen could have prevented 9/11. First, you would probably contact the airlines to prevent the flights from leaving the ground. They would most likely apprehend and detain the individuals (even before 9/11, airlines took hijack threats very seriously). But what would prevent them from boarding another flight at a later date? If they posed no danger based on rudimentary questioning, they would have been released. And then what? A new attempt?

I suppose it depends on the fortitude of the protagonists, but if you could prevent a situation from happening once, those with the determination and will would probably create the event on a different day or in a different fashion.

To be on the dance floor in the arms of a beautiful man who stands behind me while dancing to this song:

You wouldn't rather have met Elizabeth Taylor?

lol nah... why settle for a fake representation when I can have the real thing.. It's like choosing a Dildo when a fully-erect man is standing right in front of you :D :p
