  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

If you dated someone from the Third World...

Why would I do that when he could move here :P And have a warm bath every day.

^^^

That was a joke, okay, people reading this message, a joke, JOKE!!! ;)

Btw, by the third world you mean... lets see, mercury, venus, earth... oh okay, it's earth u are talking about, for a minute there I thought u meant Mars :p

Nope. I'd get them over here.

How´s that??? What if they have a very good posicion back home??

And, yes Third World countries... underdeveloped countries... países en vías de desarrollo, you get the drill

Yes, why not? But at the same time I'd have to have equal time to convince them to move where I live also. Relationships are a series of negotiations.

*shrugs* If that position involved running water, electricity, and other general comforts, than I would indeed consider it. But really, wasn't the point of the question "How much of a drop in comfort would you take to be with your boyfriend?" Having someone in a position of power in a third world country... well, they balance each other out a lot more than the assumption that the guy lives in a hut and has to walk ten miles for water.

Of course running water, conforts and the such

But how bout crime, corruption, etc. ? Makes you wonder, eh? :-)

I always thought Bulgaria sounded alright. Especially Sofia.

I wouldn't date a corrupt criminal. :p

And either way, I'd still be much more keen on getting him over here.

Yeah but Bulgaria is a bit behind...

but it is not third world

Honestly I could not live in a place with such differences in class

It is not that there are no class differences here, that goes without saying.

But the contrast between both worlds is way too much for me to bear in a day to day basis.

Besides Gay rights in third world countries are, for the most part, way behind. So it would be difficult to live there.

But that is me, I would not move back to Puerto Rico either!

New always smells good.
It's not bad at all here really. I dunno what 1956 documentary you have watched on the discovery channel

Sunny, if I feel that Spain and Italy are underdeveloped, lets not imagine what Bulgaria looks like ;)

i guess it depends on what country it is
but if i could make a decent living over there
then sure, why not! ^_^

Puerto Rico isn´t exactly the First World either

You think they're undeveloped, despite living in Barcelona?

Where exactly are you comparing them to? The deepest darkest pits of London or NY?
