If you eat asparagus...

...does it make your piss smell?

How does it feel to be a methyl mercaptan producer? Does it put you off eating asparagus?

I can eat asparagus with no urinary involvement. So there.

My piss smells anyway. It's not an odourless substance. It smells of piss.

Asparagus in a can? Where are you people from? It should be grilled or sauted, only briefly to warm and slightly caramalyze.

Ben, methyl di-ecylol some, some 3,5.... Sounds like ingredients in an overly processed tin. Should I be worried? What about the white asparagus? Do these have all that chemical shit too? Yikes.

I have never heard of "tinned asparagus" - it sounds an American invention (like squirty cheese or shooting a classmate).

Just because something has a chemical name, it does not make it dangerous, methyl mercaptan is just as natural a substance as dihydrogen monoxoxide.

Dunno. I've only eaten asparagus two or three times, and apart from the texture, it wasn't anything to write home about.

No. I'm a producer of methane too, but that doesn't put me off.

Me too.

I normally eat with my mouth.

Yes, I smell it in my urine within a short time of eating asparagus. Yuck. Same with coffee and Vitamin B supplements. Then of course there are beets, which I don't eat often. Stained my urine and I thought for a moment I had urinary bleeding but then remembered...oh yeah....Beets. Ick.

Yeah, asparagus makes my pee smell too.

But i suspect most of you have not had the pleasure of smelling infected urine, or antibiotic-laden urine....

makes asparagus residue seem citrus fresh

"shooting a classmate" ... should be "dihydrogen monoxide".... but still funny

Love asparagus. New shoots eaten raw are delish if you're fortunate enough to have access to your own patch. Well worth the smelly piss.

I can always smell it. Coffee and vitamins, too. Never really thought about it much, though.

What I actually learned here is that asparagus comes canned! I just always thought it was something you ate in season! I always look forward to it arriving! I really never eat canned vegetables, though!

I love asparagus and can't eat enough of it. Sadly the asparagus season is so short here (April, May).

My pee smelled so rank that I was worried that something was dying inside of me. I asked a nutritionist and he explained the chemical phenomenon that occurs and causes the odor. He told me to keep eating asparagus. It is a good source of antioxidants - beta carotene and vitamin C and it is rich in fiber.

I only eat it a few times a year because of the offensive pee stink. After an elegantly prepared dinner I don't want an ugly reminder. PU!

I eat asparagus
two or three times a week.
Besides I smell my fingers,
not my piss.

I don't smell my fingers either after peeing.

It's an unavoidable stink that makes me have to turn my head otherwise I risk throwing up the asparagus right back up into the said peeing apparatus.

I love asparagus (grilled with a light herbed cream sauce is just the best!) but I've never noticed a change in the smell of my pee. My poo, however, smells like shit after I eat it...#-o

Now that's funny. Sad, but funny.

Asparagus makes my pee smell...as does coffee

Does asparagus make cum taste different too? Anyone with first hand knowledge?

Listen, bitches....

I can grill up some fresh asparagus with some chopped garlic, some good olive oil and a little 'Jane's Crazy Mixed-Up Salt' (that poor girl is just NUTS, I tells ya...) that'll make yer lips smack double time !

Does it make my pee smell ? Of course ! But, who cares ?

I'm not using a litter box here, people. One flush and it's gone.

I'll try anything once, most things twice...but pork chitterlings (chitlins) will never again pass through my lips. Believe me when I say they taste just like they smell.

Canned asparagus should be banned! It's not even really green, more like a greenish gray. Anyway, I like fresh asparagus grilled on the barbecue with a bit of olive oil and some salt. Yes, it makes my pee really stink and I could care less. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable. I eat it at least a couple of times per week.

Oops! Sorry about meaningless post #49....thought I was still in the "foods you'll never try again" thread. Been pokin' too much smot.

Not so fast, jackoroe ! [-X

Sure, it doesn't hold a candle to the fresh stuff, but if you keep a couple of cans in your fridge, they can be pretty good chopped up over a salad, or if you're doing the 'low carb' thing, great mixed with some tuna and mayo for a quick lunch...

Just make sure they are ice cold.
