  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

If you were a celebrity...

Huntneo, I would be gracious and appreciative. Because you know what they say about stardom:

"It goes from 100 people asking for your autograph, to 20 people asking for your autograph, to 10 people asking for your autograph, to 1 person greeting you with '...man I thought you were dead!"

Have you guys ever thought about how you would behave in public if you were a celebrity? Like if you were approached by screaming fans for autographs, as well as handling the paparazzi? :help:

I can somewhat understand those crazy people you see losing their minds when they see some celebrities. Especially if it's someone who has inspired them in a particular way. You just feel the need to tell them how great they are, compliment their work...etc. etc. I am certain that if I ever ran into my two favorite musicians on the street, I would act like a lunatic.

From watching a number of tv shows, interviews and such...I think we can all say that some celebs don't handle attention very well in public. Some of them kick, punch, etc. etc.

And some of them just have their bodyguards stop you in your tracks before you get close enough. :grrr:

I don't think I would be like that though. I'd like to think that I would allow anyone to approach me and talk to me just like a normal person. Of course, my opinion would probably change once I saw just how dangerous it can be to allow that.

I met Paris Hilton late this Summer in Downtown, she was very sweet. Similuar to what you would've behaved. She talked to her fans, and even paparazzis while she was on the phone with her boyfriend. Obviously she didn't make a full conversation, but it was very kind of her to speak out while there were mobs around her. She's truly happy being a celebrity

I'd like to think that I'd act with some measure of dignity and genuine gratitude for those who put me where I am.

All you need to do is hire a bunch of hunky bodyguards to [STRIKE]sleep with[/STRIKE] protect you.

Problem solved.

It's not a hypothetical in my case, although my level of fame is so low as to be close to non-existent. But I do have people coming up to me and asking "Are you Lex?", and saying they like my work. Not often, but it happens.

How do I react? Not well. I've never hit anybody, but I tend to get very uncomfortable when it happens, and it probably can be sensed. I try to remember to be nice and polite, but I'm not always successful at that.

Lex

I wouldn't want to be famous... but if I was, I'd just act the same as I do now.

I'd be greatful what the luck that came my way.

I want to be a celebrity, seriously. Trouble is my main interest is politics and to become a public figure usually requires either being a politician or a news pundit. Both hard to achieve damn!

I met Paris Hilton late this Summer in Downtown, she was very sweet................ She talked to her fans, and even paparazzis.................. She's truly happy being a celebrity

Using Hilton as an example is THE example of the ultimate camera whore POSSIBLY exceeded only by Lindsay Lohan or some Kardasian....... ](*,)

You'd change your mind in a split second if there were photographers two miles away using lenses 5 feet long to catch you taking a piss outdoors....... !oops! ......or any/EVERY fucking move you make...... :help:
Having fame doesn't mean you gave up every last second of privacy.......or having some pap asking asking you stoooopid, rude or insulting questions while sticking a fucking camera in your face ....... :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

I would be gracious and kind to fans.

I would be cold and aloof to the paps, and would probably wear a cap and sunglasses everywhere. I despise having my picture taken and seeing the resulting photo.

If I were a celeb I would want to be one of those celebs that becomes famous for no reason other than being a socialite and being hot and have no talent. Seems easy enough. I want everyone to look up to me. I would so be a good celebrity and role model.

Although I would be friendly towards anyone approaching me, I would feel pretty uncomfortable at times.

Most fans follow your every move. They read every interview, and feel some connection to you and your life. It would make me feel uneasy having someone in front of me believing that they know me on a personal level.

There's not many people who really know me, and I generally don't like it when one acts like they do.

Well, if I were a celebrity and I looked the way I do now, I'd imagine there wouldn't be too much of a fuss over me.

I mean, depending on the kind of celebrity, I imagine people would like my work and may want an autograph, but I don't see myself being swarmed by adoring fans who want to tear me apart and just touch me in some way, shape or form.

So, I'd imagine I'd be the kind of one who can sit there and have a cup of tea at an outside cafe, and still enjoy having a few people come up to say hi or ask for an autograph.
