WOW - this is gonna get a lot of play

might be a defining moment for Mitt - just not sure which way it'll go

it's certainly out of character

Mitt Romney on the stump in Illinois and a woman in the audience has a question ..........

Question from woman in Peoria, Illinois: "So you’re all for like, 'yay, freedom,' and all this stuff. And 'yay, like pursuit of happiness.' You know what would make me happy? Free birth control."

Romney: "You know, let me tell you, no no, look, look let me tell you something. If you’re looking for free stuff you don’t have to pay for, vote for the other guy. That’s what he’s all about, okay? That’s not, that’s not what I’m about."

Hahahaha.... Mitt keeps digging himself a hole he'll never get out of. If anyone thinks what he said is a good thing, then you have another thing coming.

Yeah, sure it might get another percentage of the base to vote for him but what about women in general.

Lol, this guy is almost as good as Santorum.

I think if the "former-Governor of Massachusetts" was running instead of the current Willard Romney, he would have a good chance to take on Obama. Now, he is officially a lost cause like the rest of the GOP.

I heard that on ABC. It's enough to make me think of voting for Obama, just because of his arrogance.

This is a man without a clue. Companies and workers have been just toys to him, and this with other remarks tells me voters aren't much different.

In Christian terms, he worships Mammon -- riches, greed.

Of course, in reality, there is no free birth control.

The question was likely a plant. It sounds like someone was setting up the opportunity for Romney to make the pitch that he isn't going to support freeloading.

Getting birth control covered by your Catholic employers health plan is not free. The health insurance premium being paid on your behalf is part of your salary and benefits.

If the woman wants free birth control, she should probably drop in at her local Sexual Health clinic and get some condoms.

Didnt the GOP already try electing the most liberal candidate they could find in 2008 only to lose in a landslide?

Its as if the GOP believes that if Romney is elected, somehow all the good laws will only benefit republicans and all the bad laws will punish democrats. As if somehow Romney will find a way to screw the blue states out of even more money to pay for all the welfare programs in the poor red states.

But this kind of attitude is classic among greedy GOPers who think its good enough for 'me' but not good enough for 'you'.:badgrin::badgrin:

Romney says hes not about "free stuff" but I think a lot of gullible GOPers are thinking 'he doesnt really mean that, he will steal from the democrats and give me' when he will just use the voters he tricks in by funneling more public money to private enterprise via congress.

Private enterprise?

By the evidence in Congress, the GOP doesn't care about private enterprise, they care about corporate plutocracy.

Which is a short hop, skip, and jump away from fascism.
