I'm a cheating bastard...

Marley isn't angry. He just has a different way of expressing himself, that's all. He and I agree probably 75% of the time, and disagree 25% of the time. He does communicate a bit like me. He's a "bottom liner". No B.S. Just the bottom line facts. If he takes the time to reply to your thread you can pretty much figure he's opening a small part of himself, and his experiences (as most of us do) to share with others to help them. Take it, take some of it, or leave it. I wish like hell when I was 18, 19, 20, and 21 I had the internet to figure out my own craziness. Marley's a good guy.

Yeah, but some of us would give the same advice whether it was straight or gay cheating. One perspective is that cheating means it's all over and others are that it doesn't if both parties manage to deal with it and work through the source of their infidelities. For some that means a return to monogamy and for others it means mutually changing the parameters of their relationship.

Open relationships exist, straight or gay, and some of them work just fine for the parties involved, so it's a viable option, just not one that some people are inclined to believe in, offer, or consider for various, understandable reasons.

>>>And I did use protection. Definitely.

Really? Did he bring condoms and lube along with the food? Or do you have those things next to your stapler at work, just in case?

From Martha Stewart Living Magazine, March 2005 issue:

For those furtive office lunch time trysts, a leftover balloon from the office birthday bash makes a fabulous substitute condom. They come in all colors, shapes and sizes and have the added bonus of making a great post-coital conversation starter!

very clever how you glossed over a relationship that was intended to be monogomous and turned it into "now that they've both cheated, open relationships work!!" yes they do, but it wasn't an open relationship when the cheating happened. how can you possibly ignore the feelings of guilt and feelings of hurt on both sides, he didn't tell her that her shirt was ugly, he CHEATED ON HER which INCLUDES deception and a mentality he wouldn't get caught. she didn't tell him that the flowers he bought her sucked, she DECEVIED and CHEATED on him twice. i don't think it's fair and frankly it's insensitive to minimize and skip past the pain that's been caused and say "well now that it's happened let's just do an open relationship", IMO a situation like this requires more consideration than that.
Calm down. I didn't "gloss over" or skip anything. If you recall, right before I wrote that, I wrote this:

For some that means a return to monogamy and for others it means mutually changing the parameters of their relationship.
Yep. So again, sometimes people think they want a monogamous relationship and they both end up cheating, but not because they don't love their spouses. In those instances, it is possible for a couple to decide that monogamy was not what they wanted and change it to an open relationship. It's not often, but it's possible.

and this:
One perspective is that cheating means it's all over and others are that it doesn't if both parties manage to deal with it and work through the source of their infidelities

It's good that you guys always have protection on hand, but do be sure to get tested regularly. There are some STIs that don't need fluid transfers, like herpes. It's also great that you two talked, at least in this way you're able to understand what it is you both want from your relationship.

Oh and my girl and I always have condoms and lube on us. (Especially in the glove compartment and in our offices.) Never know when the urge will strike!
You need lube with a woman?! Oh, she is so not into you. :(

Tell him to take it like a man, and use spit only. AFter all if she has to wear the strap on, why should she also have to use lube? ;)
And with a strap-on, you wouldn't even need to bring condoms.
