Alright boys! I just successfully changed my first flat tire. that's right... SUCCESSFULLY! In the snow I might add! This is a proud moment for my kind lol! The only dumb thing I found myself doing was tying to "unscrew" the hub cap (they just pop on.) Good thing I found it today, my day off and not tomorrow morning (I have to leave my house at 5:30am for work.) Well, I'm off to the shower (unless anyone wants to ravish a "mechanic") then treating myself to movies and dinner in. Me thinks V for Vendetta, Brokeback Mountain (I bought it right when it came out and have only watched it once) and perhaps Titanic (the Titanic exhibit is here in Colorado and my mummy and I are going out Tuesday to see it.) By for now! (!)

why i called me mom mommy until she passed.

she was me mommy.

:=D::=D: Whatatime - Well done.

Now, strap on some boots and grab an ax and go chop me some wood. My wood pile is getting low  (j/k) - good for you. Next time it will be much easier. I remember the first time I changed a tire, I couldn't believe it. I practically told everyone I met !oops!

great... when do you plan on crushing a beer can with your head and then burping the alphabet? :p

I built my own porch furniture then I built my own deck. I've hung panelling and drywall and put in a drop ceiling.
I can paint and wallpaper. I can change tires on a car and I put on brake pads once and I can change my own oil.
I can also cook better than most guys I know and I'm pretty good at baking cakes.
If you know what clam pie is, I make the best you'll ever taste (so I'm told)

LOL :D

Your post made me laugh!

I got a flat a few years ago, had to call a tow truck because...I couldn't get my hub cap off...I tried and tried, the tow truck arrived, I pointed to the flat, said I couldn't get the hub cap off...the driver looked at me and said it is a mag wheel, no hub cap.

I wanted to die.

I now have road side insurance.

Don !oops!

PS: I no longer even pump my own gas, overflowed it too many times trying to get to the even dollar...

I got a flat in Albuquerque...

We had to spend the night in a WalMart parking lot...

Congrats on #1, now, get that tire fixed or replaced and put it the original wheel back on your car -- I take it you put on your temporary spare tire -- nothing to use long term, especially in Colorado in the winter..........

The first time I changed a tire I had to jump up and down on the wrench to loosen the nuts. (I was a lot smaller at the time.)

I suck at life. I got a flat once... I called AAA... I didn't know what the hell to do. I also had to call AAA because my oil was low and I didn't know where to put it. It's not that I don't not like cars... No one just ever told me what's what. *Tear*
lol

this thread definitely caught my eye. I'm impressed. I can't change a tire for the life of me!

I changed my tire for no good reason a couple months ago. I was cleaning my car and swifer-ing and polishing, all that good stuff and thought hey... I'm gonna take my tire off and on. Its not hard at all.. jack the car up properly, just unscrew the nuts, slide tire off, put new one on, tighten the nuts. I do admit, I was a little confused on the hubcap at first. I didn't want to break it. Some cars hubcaps just pop off, others have the nuts screwed in over the hubcaps as I found out.

I am interested, Simon, to learn whether you refer to your nuts or the tire's? Better watch tire iron jumping, whether or not you were a lot smaller at the time. Jump the wrong way, and you might stay smaller.:p
