I was never out in high school, and honestly, I'm glad I kept it that way. There weren't any openly gay kids when I went to high school but a few that were obvious and treated not so well. You're only going to be around those people for a very short time in the grand scheme of things, don't make it any harder on yourself than it has to be.

That said, after high school there were 2 different guys I hooked up with, who were *ahem* "totally straight" a few years earlier. If there is a thousand kids at your school, and only 5% turn out to be gay/bi, that's 50 people.

If you're a senior, it will be all over pretty soon and you'll wonder why you ever cared.
