  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I'm coming out!

The gold vs blue square box on the listings.

HUH? (Deja Vu!)

What listings? All I'm seeing in my list of subscribed threads is red, or blue, and I have NO Idea what THAT means! :slap:

(Going for some more posts so it, whatever "it" is, changes. ..| )

Reddish, Goldish - they're like the envelopes on the old system.
You haven't been reading all of the posts -

Reddish = 5o or more posts, or 1000 or more views.
Blue = less than one of those, i.e. less visited or "newby" thread - which, as we all know, Bryce is certainly a "Newby".
He only founded the place under a nom de plume, lol.
This is #49

Phew! I thought I was losing it and starting to confuse user names and avatars. Then I spotted this thread and realised I'm not going senile just yet.

Bryce it is. Erm, congratulations? ;)

About time Bryce haha. :)

Congrats to you and all the guys that make JUB possible. You all had a great idea and it has brought many guys together and have the ability to hash out all the s**t that goes on in our gay lives. You all should be proud of yourselves.

Bill

Hey guys,

This is a long time coming, but I think its time for me to come out before I totally loose my mind. No, not that closet... a different one.

Back when I bought linkmeallover.ca way back, the former owner told us whatever we do... don't use our real names on the forum. He promised us that if we did we'd have crosses burning in our front yards. That was almost a decade ago and a lot has changed in that time.

So today, I'm coming out and changing my username. Seth seems so silly now. No offense to the Seth's out there in the world, but it truly doesn't suit me. I don't feel like a Seth and so I'm renouncing my previous username.

From this day forward please call me Bryce, the name given to me by my parents :)

Best,
Bryce (formerly Seth)

-- that felt so good :gogirl:

Now go over to the Amateur forum and show us yer dick! :gogirl:

One of these days, maybe after my father dies, I'll be able to use my real name in the places online that I'm out (though, not here because the people in this region would be horrified [or worse] if they found out I was into gay porn!). There are a few trusted friends and family in RL who know I'm bi (some even know I'm into gay porn!), but I am not vocal or obvious about it at all--at least, I try not to make it obvious when I'm admiring a woman's rear end.... Online, though, I'm VERY vocal about who I am. The only vocal about GLBTQA I am in RL is standing up for marriage equality and honoring diversity and the Trevor Project and such. My dad asked last year why I was into these causes all of the sudden, and I said, "Because it's right." I didn't lie; I just dodged.

Dad's a homophobe. He's getting better, but I'm pretty sure he'd use the "just being trendy" phrase or similar on me if Mom or I told him because he's very old fashioned and thinks everything in the world must be the way he wants it...especially his family and his immediate environment. (Do the terms "narcissist" and "verbal/emotional/psychological abuse" ring a bell? Those apply to my dad and my family life. I lived in that home until I was 40, when I finally got granted Social Security Income because of my epilepsy and Asperger syndrome complicated by severe depression [chemical, not situational].)

Speaking of changing names, I've wanted to ask for a long time if I could change mine. I don't use dfasgiles anywhere else anymore, so it's a real hassle for me to use it here.

I'd like to change my username to the one I sign my messages with: origuessimabinicorn (a la one Brittany S. Pierce from Glee).

Thanks! :rb:

I've known you as Bryce since I became a mod.. (2005, I think)

I didn't even notice until today that you had stopped using Seth as your screen name.

You are a JUB founding father, and it is fitting that people know who Bryce is.

You are giving me the inspiration to come out with my real name. I'm still not ready for that yet, (and heck, I respond to Ron as easily as my own name), but I greatly admire you for doing that. :D

I didn't think to say this at the time when I read, "No offense to all the Seths out there," but Seth is the ex-boyfriend of a young man I know. They're still friends and I adore them both, but...I just think it's funny because I just met Seth Spring 2011, almost exactly a year before you posted this. How dare you insult my friend? ;)

Hi Bryce...cool coming out thread. I wouldn't worry about people burning crosses at your house, I'd worry about being inundated with big hugs and kisses. I love JUB and am glad to be a part of it. Thanks!
