And I'm the reason homosexual kids get beat up in school.

GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY LIFE!

Don't really think so.

I really am strongly against things like Gay Pride Parades, Perez Hilton, Queer As Folk ("Queer As Fuck") etc; I feel that those continue to give the entire gay movement a REALLY bad name, and most young gay people are scared to death to come out because they don't want to be compared to that. I prefer to believe that gay people - just like everyone else - are individuals who all have their own upbringing, feelings, beliefs and choices in life. I don't like people like the guy pictured in the OP, but I completely respect that they have the freedom to make an ass out of their selves in Gay Pride Parades. I just wish this vocal minority wouldn't speak for/represent ALL OF US in the media, and in society's general perception of us; We wouldn't have a black family in the White House today if it weren't for intelligent, respected role models like Martin Luther King and Bob Marley working very hard to bring dignity and unity to the black community. When will we get our modern-day "Martin Luther King"?

But y'know, I can't say all that stuff without having gay people get pissed off at me, so i'm not going to even bother going any further. You win, i'm wrong and stupid.

Well what one sees as "good" someone might see as bad. People are unique and have different perceptions on everything. Just be open and accept that people express themselves in this way... but it is not for you. Don't rag on em...Stick together my Gay Fam!....after all We are Family... I got all my sister with me!

Someone clearly had an extra glass of Haterade with breakfast...

Well unlike the OP here, at least you're human enough to admit it.

I'll never understand how a few people choose to conduct themselves can define an community (positively or negatively) as a whole. No other person on this earth can make me look bad but me. And if I'm still getting beat up in school day after day then I need to remind myself to purchase a sharper switchblade for next time.

Well, it's mostly because the vocal few who choose to represent themselves this way are the ones making themselves the most visible. . .or are at least more memorable and talked about than the "boring" gay people. The thing is, you hardly ever hear about them.

I just feel that it creates a vicious circle where we (gay people and straight people) will continue to hate, misunderstand and piss each other off. I feel that we're in the 21st century now, and long past the Stonewall Riots. It's a different world; I've notice that a lot of younger straight guys actually like and respect Neil Patrick Harris after coming out. I feel like that's major progress when a man can come out and be respected and supported by young straight men, who are typically the most homophobic.

Basically, all i'm saying is that NPH should be the leader of the world's official Gay-Straight Alliance. Who's with me?!

>>>When will we get our modern-day "Martin Luther King"?

When you get off your fucking ass and start leading, presumably.

You, of all people, don't get to decide how everyone else live their lives.

Nowadays not even The Pope gets to do that...

you got two things to do, get upset, and get over it.

That guy has one thing to do, live his life the way he wants it... oh wait, he's already doing that!

When you spend your time and energy educating and helping the community, then you can complain.

Otherwise you're just another judmental... whatever you want to call yourself...

Perhaps the OP missed the sticker on his forehead?

And yes, he is beautiful. That's some amazing make-up work.

What have you ever stood up for? Fought for? Believed in?

Sounds to me you just want to be gay and expect the world to respect you and allow you to live a happy little life. In truth their are many people who want to shut you up, not see your public displays of affection with the person you love or give you any rights equal to them because you are gay.

Stonewall didn't fix everything, there is still many battles to be fought and the guy in the OP is one of the many that put themselves out there for gay people who are like them to say it's OK to be open and honest and truly live and not just simply exist. Guys like fight for our rights so guys like you can sit on the sidelines and reap the rewards.

The mainstream media chooses to portray only certain aspects of our community does not mean that we are the ones with the problem. As they used to do with all minorities to keep the stigma alive in small minded bigoted people. However, there are many balanced views today of what the GLBT community looks like. Though Bigots and people filled with self-hatred focus only on what they find unappealing. I for one do not need nor desire any 20 year old respecting me because I act like them or emulate what they believe is normal.

Well it's that specific vocal minority that got you all the rights and respect you have today.

And if you think you don't have any rights and respect today, you ought to see what the world was like before Stonewall.

You have a lot to learn. Think before speaking.
