Holy crap, I just got a call from the casting director from Wheel of Fortune. I auditioned nearly 17 months ago, and I never heard anything until today. I'm beyond stoked. Quite surreal...

Does anyone know anyone that's been on a game show before? Any advice?

Cool, congrats. Let us know when you film and when the show airs.

Are you gonna donate some money to me?

No, but good luck - and i've never been on a game show before, so I don't have much advice other than to not be nervous and not to get drunk with Pat Sajak before the show.

When you make it to the bonus round, don't punch Pat in the face when you spin the wheel.

The most popular letters are R, S, T, L, N, and E! That's why they use them at the end.

Btw, how did you audition? Was it just guessing letters?

Don't shit your panties on stage!

If I accomplish this, it'll be a good day!

Most likely it'll be around mid-March. I'll let you know when I find out which episode I've drawn.

Did you actually read that news article in People? Lol, I just heard about that today. They must start drinking early! The taping starts around 1130.

Also, the "What are you doing?" category obviously always have I, N, and G letters.

I auditioned in LA a while back. I remember registering for the chance to audition in January 2010, and I didn't receive an e-mail until August 2010. I just heard that I made it yesterday. I assume they have a ton of contestants in their files.

The audition has three parts. All of the potential contestants meet in a small hotel banquet room with rows of chairs. First, they call a random name. You then stand up, and play a virtual game (PowerPoint-like). You play until you miss.

Second, they hand out a paper with about 15 puzzles on it. I was freaking out, since I only completed 50% of them.

Finally, they tell half of the contestants that they did not advance into the final round. You then go up in front of the room in groups of four. You will pretend to spin the wheel (sucks how they didn't have the real wheel there), and play another virtual game.

The audition ends with us introducing each other; just like what they do on the show.

Whether you win or lose, is sure sounds like an experience! Best of luck to you!

How cool, a friend of mine was on the price is right a while back. He won some money playing pinko....good luck, win some big bucks and take us all out for dinner!

That happened years and years ago when the contestants 'bought' items with their winnings. After the game was finished, it took the staff over 2 hours to load the 'goodies'. Pat and Vanna often went across the street to a bar to wait. Pat confessed to returning to the studio feeling better than when he left.

hahaha, seriously, though... Just don't be an idiot. One of my biggest pet peeves on the show is when someone OBVIOUSLY knows the answer, but spins anyways to try and get more money (which I have no problem with), but then lands on a bigger money amount, and calls for a D just because they know there's a D. But they also knew that there were 2 or 3 R's (or whatever), because you could tell they already knew knew the pouzzle!! So they won $2500 for that one letter, when they could have got $5000 or $7500!! The stupidity of people on that show astounds me - so be one of the smart players. Buy lots of vowels. They help.

i think those games are a lot easier to play sitting in your living room than they are in the actual studio. people get nervous, they are excited and can't always think str8. I think our OP should take some valiums or something before taping.....

I am a long time Wheel watcher.....

Don't be so quick to buy vowels. They deduct from your total, and sometimes, they aren't very helpful.....

During the audition, they kept stressing to buy vowels. When it comes to real money; I will not be playing around like I would do on a video game version of the show.

Don't ask for a life line.

Be sure to tell us when you know when your show will air.
